The accommodations were awesome! There are more options for 5 star resorts, but this one was AMAZING!!!! A quaint/modest room, but people are friendly, the view amazing, the outdoor accommodations great! Staff was wonderful, friendly and always willing to help. I would recommend any day of the week. We plan on going back!

Great getaway spot. If you are visiting Point Reyes National Seashore, this is the best option for lodging. It’s close to all the interest points in the park, good access to the water spots like kayaking or paddle boarding. Very quiet. Our room is right on the water. When looking out from the room, it’s almost if we are looking out of the balcony on a cruise.

Cute little inn on the water!

Beautiful area and the hotel was very conveniently located, right on the water! Our room was great and had a view of the bay. Room was very clean and had all the necessities! Bed was comfy, but could’ve had better pillows. Overall would definitely stay again!

Tomales Bay Resort is an excellent location from which to explore Pt Reyes and West Marin. It’s a cool, funky, but well maintained facility right on Tomales Bay.

A Mellow Escape

We were looking for a mellow escape from the City madness. We found it and it was great. Super quiet. The local area was welcoming. Sitting on the benches overlooking the Bay was just what the doctor ordered. Thank you!

8/10 Very good

Near the water and the rooms were nice however there were no services onsite and very limited dining nearby. There was a restaurant bar on site, but it’s no longer operational and no DoorDash or anything within walking distance. I would have preferred an enclosed patio but the bed was comfy and room well equipped. Friendly staff with easy check in/check out.

Location, location, location! There are only 4 hotels near Point Reyes National Seashore. Tomales Bay Resort is one of the closest. In fact, you have to drive past the hotel to get something to eat at the markets and restaurants in Inverness and Point Reyes Station after a day of exploring. You know you are there when you see a boat near the road. The room is a little outdated but it is cozy. On check in day the hotel has the gas stove in the room already turned on. The shower has a place to sit and the water gets really hot. (Thank God!) There is a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine. There was a sign that the oven/stove don't work. Not sure if that is permanent. There is a front and back porch which I did not need. The hotel is on the water. There is a small marina with boats onsite. There are 6 rooms that allow dogs. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Travel tip! If you drive south 10 minutes on Sir Francis Drake in the opposite direction of PRNS you will get to Inverness Market. They sell the most delicious breakfast sandwiches in the world!!! They come wrapped. You can sit at an outdoor table or take it to go.You can also buy pasta, salads, sandwiches, and hamburgers to go.

Nice motel with standard features. Not modernized, but it was fine. Amenities included fridge, microwave, coffee maker with coffee. Room key was issued although the cleaning staff were not finished preparing the room. The restaurant/bar were not open. Beautiful area.

Nice and cozy

It was nice and cozy for the price. The kid in the reception was polite and friendly. The place is outdated, the coffee machine was broken, however I due recommend it.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Great View, rough sleep.

The room and view was great, however I would recommend getting an upstairs room or a single story room as the noise upstairs kept us up until 12:45am on our first night. It would also be nie if all of the rooms in the building we stayed in had a small table and chairs to use to sit outside and enjhoy the view. There was one table outside and the people in the rooom next to us insisted it was their table and we were not allowed to use it. It would also be ice if there was an ironing board an iron available in the room. All in all our stay was pleasant and we will consider staying again if there is no one above us walking around loudly.
Jeffery, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

The word resort if misleading for 2025. Perhaps back in 1950 it was considered a resort for its time. Not only is the decor dated, so is the plumbing (low inefficient water pressure) as are the amenities. For example, when we asked for an iron, there was none available to us. Which was unfortunate considering you'd expect more from a "resort." The pillows were so flat and most of the windows did not open making the room warm and stuffy. The shampoo/conditioner could've been from the dollar tree for all I know. Which isn't why you visit but gives you an idea of the lack on forethought in providing a cozy experience. This is the 3rd time we've stayed here, each room unique and never as disappointing as this most recent time. Which is unfortunate because the staff are wonderful and accommodating. But it does not compare to the slapped on paint to make this place appear up to the times.
2-night trip

8/10 Very good

We enjoyed an overnight stay; however, when we saw we had a kitchen we went to local store and purchased food for breakfast. Then found out the stove does not work. We were told the gas is turned off and they don't advise the kitchen. It would be a courtesy to let people know when they arrive so they don't make the same assumption. BTW; the local grocery is about double typical cost. Didn't have an issue with the price because of remote location. Just would of not purchased food to cook. The beds were comfortable.
Kenneth, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The location on Tamales Bay is quite scenic, the rooms are clean and spacious, if a bit dated, and the beds were comfy. We were disappointed to learn that the restaurant was not only closed but had been closed since COVID. Having to drive some distance to eateries was somewhat offset by some quite good food options. Not everything in the room was operational, the gas heater did warm the room but its fan was not working so it took a little longer. The ice cream that we put in the freezer compartment melted. When we wanted to fix cereal for ourselves one morning we discovered that there were no bowls. The staff was friendly but had limited hours on site.
