Nice hotel in historic Eksjö

Very nice older hotel in the centre of historic Eksjö. We booked for three adults in one room and got an extra bed that was too hard to sleep on. Unless you like very hard beds, we advice you to check and ask for extra mattress to the extra bed. Besides that, we had a very good stay!

Hotellet och rummet helt okej standard, dock luktade det vĂ€ldigt mycket kloak i badrummet trots att vi anvĂ€nde det flitigt. Utbudet pĂ„ tv-kanalerna var sĂ„dĂ€r, flera kanaler fungerade inte. Finns nĂ„got för alla vid frukosten och bra kvalitet dĂ€r. Åt aldrig middag pĂ„ hotellet.

Nice place, difficult to sleep

The bed were in three parts that drifted apart during the night. The curtains let in a lot of light, so bring a sleeping mask if you want to sleep past three in the morning. The restaurant took one hour between ordering and getting the tasteless food, but I can’t blame the hotel for that.

Vi sÄg fram emot en trevlig övernattning med bokat bord i hotellets restaurang. Hotelrummet och frukostmatsalen trevliga men servicen i kvÀllsrestaurangen pÄ kvÀllen var inte vad vi förvÀntade oss. Vi reserverade bord minst en mÄnad innan som var registrerad men inget bord fanns för oss tvÄ personer reserverat utan erbjöds enstaka bord vid baren som fanns över och inte dÀr alla satt pÄ glasverandan. Detta gjorde vÄrt besök till mindre lyckad och vi Àr fundersamma över hur hotellets restaurang planerar för sina gÀster. BÀttring behövs!

I förhÄllande till priset: Rummets planering inte den bÀsta. Utspridda sittplatser och inget litet soffbord trots att plats egentligen finns. Ingen avstÀllningsyta i badrummet - behöver fixas till. Noterade att utrymningsplan inte hunnit sÀttas upp pÄ dörrens insida som brukligt. Rummet mörkt pga av ena fönstret igensatt - tillfÀlligt pga renovering? Det Ă€r första gĂ„ngen som jag har bott pĂ„ ett hotell dĂ€r man inte fĂ„r öppna fönstret, ”det var en tropisk natt under boendet”för att det var sĂ„ ruttet att det Ă€r risk att det ramlar ner pĂ„ gatan.Rummet var trĂ„ngt och vĂ€ggarna svartmĂ„lade med endast en tavla pĂ„ vĂ€ggarna,men sĂ€ngen var mjuk och skön.Det fanns ingen apelsinjuice till frukosten,vilket jag aldrig har upplevt i mitt liv under alla 100 tas hotellnĂ€tter som jag har upplevt,jag antar att det Ă€r en besparing pga prishöjningen av apelsinjuicen.Dessutom var frukostandelningen mycket bullrig och underdimensionerad med avseende pĂ„ antalet gĂ€ster,svĂ„rt att hitta ett bord. Överlag var det en bra övernattning. Det uppfyllde förvĂ€ntningarna. Vi Ă„t i restaurangen, den höll ”knappt godkĂ€nd”kvalitĂ©. Maten innehöll inget ”extra” utan kĂ€ndes som ”skaplig hemmakvalitĂ©â€, inte nĂ„got ”extra” i form av smak, tillagning eller sĂ„. KĂ€ndes som en tripp tillbaka till hur maten tillagades pĂ„ 70/80-talet. EfterrĂ€tten tog priset. Paj med sĂ€songens frukt. Det visade sig vara ett torrt pajskal (inte en tillstymmelse till fĂ€rg - troligen prefabricerat som man inte gjort nĂ„got med). Över detta pajskal hade man sedan slĂ€ngt pĂ„ en massa rabarberkrĂ€m (sĂ„g inte pajskalet förrĂ€n man började Ă€ta - det var drĂ€nkt i krĂ€m) - ovanpĂ„ allt lĂ„g en kula glass. Vi kunde inte annat Ă€n att skratta Ă„t det. SĂ„, vill ni uppleva matlagning frĂ„n 70/80-talet sĂ„ ska ni Ă€ta dĂ€r. Annars finns det klart bĂ€ttre alternativ. Men, hotelldelen o frukost var vi mycket nöjda med.

Terrible, the straff in the reception was absolutley not service minded, she was not interested of us as guests at the Hotel. Didn’t inform us at all, just wanted us to pay. I had requested a quiet room, it was NOT! Near to roads with traffic, a firestation and a LOT of noise. The room i booked should have dubbelbed, this room was small and the bed was just 140 centimeters wide. When I asked about it she was ignoring and not helpful at all. Blamed all on the site Expedia wich site I didn’t book on! When I said that the price was high for that kind of room and comfort, , she just lagughed and said, that’s the price! We don’t recommend anyone to book or stay at this hotel, at all!
