Great place in a very convenient location
Niklas, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Cosy place, but a bit too much noise from the stairwells and other doors. Simple but tasty breakfast and friendly staff.

Good location

Perfect location and very easy to get there from the airport by tram. Huge room with cosy standard. Nice places for breakfast close to the hotel. Several restaurants nearby.

Great stay

Perfect place for Edinburgh. Just off the tram line; but away from all the really touristy areas. Hotel was very well kept. Friendly staff, big rooms and great location.

EU vacation.

Just one night room was very large for Europe standards. Very comfortable bed and a real nice shower. Would definitely stay there again. Convenient to train station and plenty of good food nearby.

10/10 Exceptional

Great location to many of the historical sites of Edinburgh. The area is highly walkable; but, plenty of public transportation options if needed. The room is well appointed and spacious. Staff were very helpful and responsive.

Quaint neighborhood close to tram

The location was excellent! Quaint neighborhood and close to the tram and busses. Our rooms were smaller than expected, but we just slept there one night so it was fine. We were on the lower level and our room was a little musty and damp at first. The staff was very friendly and cooperative and brought us a fan which helped for sleeping. We could not find a vent for the bathroom so everything was damp in the bathroom from the shower, which added to the humidity of the room. I would guess the higher temps added to the warmer rooms so probably not always an issue. Overall, for the location, was a good stay and we would stay there again, just not the lower level.
Roberta, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Poor quality-price ratio

The hotel is not too bad but way overpriced for what it is. They have us one face towel for two people. The bath towels are nice but the shower had some mould. The hotel has rooms across 6 buildings (one next to each other). I booked 2 rooms several months ago and the rooms were in separate buildings and both in the basement (which wasn't clear when I booked). One of the rooms was by the front of the building so you could hear people getting in and cars driving by. Overall, very expensive for what it is.

Ok hotel, poor service

We stayed here on a weekend with 2 big events in town, so prices were understandably high. But for well over £300 the hotel felt dated and the service was extremely poor. One guy was dealing with check ins and the bar. He had to take people out the hotel and up the street to other buildings. We waited 20 mins for a drink. The room itself looked like it was once nice, but in need of decoration. Our room was on the bottom floor of a building 6 doors up. We were woken up every time someone came in the front door. Ben, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The facilities were great, very nicely furnished and it was in a great location for us.
Jeff, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Lovely, but noisy.

The rooms are beautiful, however, there was no noise insulation. Our room was lower ground floor at the front. We could hear traffic outside (no double glazing), as well as hearing every person who passed by our window and came in to the building. Some guests were inconsiderate with the noise, especially late at night (midnight and 2am), but even with those guests who weren't being loud, you still heard them. The breakfast was excellent, and the setvice was quick. The dining room it was served in was lovely - in fact the whole place was lovely, just wished they had better noise insulation.
David, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Great location near the train station!
Audrey, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel is super convenient. It is a 5 minute walk to the Haymarket station to get a train or the tram to the airport. The checkin and checkout are easy and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in old townhouses with separate entrances. The bedroom is somewhat antiquated, but the bathroom is modern and clean. There are only stairs so if you have trouble with stairs or alot of luggage request a low floor. Overall I recommend it for the location, price, and staff.
