stayed here a few nights. very cute local dive! room was clean and ear plugs were provided and worked well to block out the noise from the bar. owner was very nice. loved the overall vibes and was a great local experience!

Historic hotel

Historic building with renewed rooms. There is a bar with live music downstair. It is not a problem for me, but, keep in mind. Check in and check out very easy. I recommend and gonna go back!

A quaint place but is above a bar but that might it was karaoke and was nice to listen to. Rooms clean, bathrooms shared but clean. Food options from various food trucks were good. We would stay here again.

Unique lodging option in hip Talkeetna— seven rooms, roadhouse style, with a must-see historic bar and music venue on the main floor below. The rooms are comfy and newly renovated. It’s an older building and the music carries, so this place isn’t for everyone— but if you want to be in the center of the action Fairview Inn can’t be beat!

Cool old bar with rooms above. Located in the heart of Talkeetna.

Lose points for shared bathrooms, no TV in rooms, the music was loud but tolerable.

They did a great job updating the rooms with comfortable beds! As long as you don’t mind the bar noise late it’s a perfect location and fun to stay at an old, historical hotel!

It was exactly as advertised. Room was over a busy local historic bar just as advertised and the owners went out of the way to insure the authenticity promised.

We had so much fun at Fairview Inn, it was a perfect night. Courtney and Tonya were the bartenders, they were awesome. We had drinks, we danced then stayed the night. The rooms were cute and clean. The owner is really nice too. We will definitely be staying there again!!!

So loud you can’t sleep and when the music stops people are drunk screaming down the hallways

The rooms are above a bar and there was a band playing but luckily they wrapped up by 7 pm. The room was so tiny barely enough room for a full-size bed and one table. But the room and bathrooms were very clean. The evening bartender Heather was very nice, the day bartender wasn't.

Didn’t realize there would be music below until like 1 in morning. Sleep not gauranteed.

The Fairview is ALWAYS a good time and we were so happy to see rooms open to stay in. Everything was clean and easy to access. It is NOT a place to stay if you are hoping to rest or get good sleep, and unfortunately we went to bed around 10pm. The free earplugs are necessary :)

Great stay. Walking distance to everything. Old school atmosphere. Live music at night. You will hear it at night (rooms above bar). It didn’t bother me. I love live bands.

If you are a traveler who needs a good night's sleep don't stay here. If you want to stay up raving all night, do. There was no live music event the night we stayed so we were told it likely wouldnt be too loud..... By 12:30am we had given up and were trying to sleep in the car. We went back in when the bar said it was closing on its website (1:30) only to have the same ridiculously loud music playing beyond that time. At 1:55am I went down to ask when it would stop and was bluntly, and actually quite rudely informed it would end when the 'customers' left and that 'this is a bar you know' which made me realise the bar staff do not consider the overnight stay people as customers at all. Finally the noise ended at 2:10am. It's a shame as the bed was comfy, the room was perfectly clean and functional and the location is great, but it really is a bar first and foremost and just happens to have a few rooms upstairs. It is definitely not a place to book to stay for a relaxing, enjoyable evening.

For weary travelers, those with kids and/or families, those seeking even a semi-decent overnight stay in what truly is a unique, quirky, cute little town, do NOT book this place. The establishment "caters" to a pretty specific crowd/demographic, and unless you "fit" into that niche, AVOID booking this place. Expedia!!, WHY don't you warn travelers before booking??? When someone books here, it is NON-REFUNDABLE. Their posting is deceiving at best, incorrect and nothing near honest on the whole. Rooms are TINY, have no TV, and the bar music BLASTS from just a few feet from the bottom of the stairs until 1-2AM! Sleep is next to impossible...and the noise is SOOOOOO bad that you can't even work on your computer! Check-in must be done at the BAR with dozens of people there drinking. We watched the bartend actually SITTING WITH patrons and DRINKING! VERY UNCOMFORTABLE check-in process. There is NOTHING in their posting about the music and true condition of the property. The live music--blues, according to the bartend when we were there--was little more than missed notes, voices screaming out of tune, and drunk people yelling and spurring it on. I travel quite a bit and usually provide reviews for food establishments. There is no food here (despite their posting)...but I couldn't NOT post this review for other travelers.

The only thing that really saves this inn is its proximity to the river, food, and activities in town. It really is a beautiful little town and I don’t want to overlook that! The people are kind and the food is great, it’s definitely worth the visit, just without staying at this location. Very honestly, This was probably the worst hotel we have stayed at in a while. The room was small and the temperature was difficult to manage, the door and keys were questionable at best, the bed was uncomfortable, and the shared bathrooms were disgusting. It was like staying at a low budget hostel at 4x the price. Let’s start with the bathrooms: They were littered with beer bottles and empty drink cups, all kinds of bodily fluids all over the seat and toilets. Even when the door was locked, which should be an indicator that someone is already in there, other guests or bar patrons were still able to open the doors and freely walk in. Not at all enjoyable. Then there was the live music… This music was supposed to end around 1 in the morning, reasonable for a weekend, but the screeching microphones, off key singing, yelling, and absolute chaos continued up past 3am. They did offer a jar of ear plugs, but they looked beyond decrepit. When we woke up to check out, the main area where we checked in was locked and there was no key drop. We received no instructions on what to do with the keys, so our taxi driver ended up dropping them off with the AM bartender.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. It was nothing fancy, and we had to share a bathroom, but we had no problems. It was very loud at night with the bar underneath. The people made this experience great for us. We are from Georgia and came off season. We were watching the Falcons, and the locals joined in and cheered for our team! We really loved talking to the people of Talkeetna. They made it very special for us. I can’t wait to go back and stay in the same place!
