Location is great for exploring the city. The hotel corridors are in need of renovation but rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was great too. It's one of those hotels that won't wow you but serves its purpose!

Arrived late from train. Although there was tea and coffee available there was no milk anywhere. Room itself was well equipped, liked the kettle and fridge. Great breakfast.

A very good overall stay, with room to improve.

Pros: Great Location - close to trains, town center and lots of restaurants nearby. Very good breakfast, loved the fresh squeezed orange juice. Kveldsmat (simple evening buffet) included in the price of the room. Cons: Rooms are just a little bit small. Two single beds, but arranged in such a way, between fixed bedside tables, that they are almost touching. Could hear the flow of water in pipes in the walls. Not very intrusive, but late at night, when it's quiet, it's noticable. Fresh-squeezed orange juice machine was broken on the third morning of my three day stay :( Kveldsmat (simple evening buffet) is only monday-thursday (not available weekends).

The hotel is nicely located near the the train station and an easy walk to all the central spots. (Note: it is named for the river, not the cathedral - the cathedral is a 5-10min walk away). If you are arriving from the airport, take the train - it costs about £3 and is slightly quicker than the bus. Room wasn't huge but was big enough and it had a decent view over some rooftops to water and hills. It has a kettle and a mini fridge. There are tea bags in the room but more selection in reception and by the breakfast room to take back to the room if needed. The breakfast in the hotel is great - everything you could possibly hope for from cold meats, cheeses, salmon to three or four different types of egg, bacon, sausage, pancakes, vegetables to fruit, cereal, bread and pastries.

Perfekt läge nära tågstationen

Hotellets läge är helt perfekt i centrum. Rummet var ganska litet med utsikt mot ventilationssystemet. Det här berörde inte oss eftersom det var värmebölja och därmed stängda gardiner hela vistelsen :) Rent och snyggt och jättebra frukost. Lokalt Micro bryggeri i bottenvåningen. Busshållplatser precis utanför. Mycket nära centralstationen. Tyst och lugnt. Bra kuddar.
