Fabulous location and (mostly) fabulous villa, lovingly decorated with fun, little holiday decorations . What a view! The indoor kitchen and living areas were adequately supplied with everything we needed to live comfortably. We also really enjoyed the outdoor living areas - - the pool setting, comfy chairs, covered porch area with a really nice grill and - -bonus - - outdoor grassy play area complete with a trampoline!!! While the Quetzal villa was delightful, it did have a couple issues that we noticed and reported to management. They were immediately responsive but were unable to resolve the issues while we were there. (1. sewer gas smell in bathrooms - - we solved by covering sink and shower drain pipes and 2. AC in Master BR made clicking sound which they said is normal and we eventually got used to it.). We would definitely stay here again - - and will probably ask for this unit if we make it back to Canavida in the future.

Absolutely amazing location with stunning views. The property is new, well maintained, clean and has everything to need for your stay. We stayed in the Tucan villa, the pool was perfect and the covered deck was great on warm rainy days. The staff was super friendly and easy to connect with through What’sApp. Uvita beach is a short drive away, lots of good restaurants nearby. We stayed 12 nights and didn’t want to leave! We will definitely come back here if in Costa Rica again.

Beautifully furnished and comfortable condo nestled in a jungle setting overlooking the ocean. Sparkling clean infinity pool, full kitchen, BBQ pit on back patio, excellent service from host and staff. The 5k maintained rock road to get there from main hwy is a bit of a rough drive but well worth it. This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica and we have stayed at many wonderful places- but none as amazing as CanaVida. Only stayed 2 nights- wish we had stayed 2 weeks!

It seemed a very nice villa on top of the hills with a view. We were happy when we first arrived, though after 20 mins the electricity shut off, for 2,5 hours, in dark with kids, the team did respond real fast and the tech came by to fix the emergency light that didn’t work. Positives: - The view is very nice - the grounds are greener than on the pics - the house is quite large and rooms have good bathrooms, but villa 8 second bedroom is separate, weird! - the furnishing is nice wood, well styled - aircons work Not so goods: - long dirt gravel road 6km, also a positive, as we had a 4x4, so be sure to have a high clearance or 4x4. - no washing machine available - tiles throughout seem nice but when wet are extremely slippery! They put some strips down outside, but you must wear footwear…! - kitchen is good size, but not well equipped, so basically not really for cooking majorly, thus missing utensils or cheap versions. - dining chairs are too low - place smelled like dog first few days, floor needs better cleaning! Good coms/fixes: - shower at first didn’t work properly, but they came fast and fixed. Generally we enjoyed the place only to an extent, that it was nice architecture with a view a lot of animals around, quite private, large dining deck and cool at night, but the location is high in hills and therefore much cooler, wetter and in clouds, so hardly touched the pool and when wanting outdoors we went to the valley for sunshine. We stayed a week. Enjoy

Jungle Paradise

The property is amazing! I have been traveling to Costa Rica since 1990 and I can tell you Canavida is one of the best values ever. From the initial communication and through the entire stay I was impressed. The condo we stayed at was perfect. Clean, well appointed, ocean views right out the back sliding glass doors, etc. I could go on. This is 100% a place I would highly recommend when in the Dominical/Uvita area. Just make sure to get a 4x4 to make access to the property as it is up the hill a little but do not let that discourage you. It is more than worth it.

The hotel is super clean, mattresses are comfortable and kitchen is fully equipped. View is just breathtaking, you can enjoy sunset from pool. Owner and staff are friendly and responsive, feels like home. Just only one thing to be aware of is gravel road to the property that takes about 15 minutes

We loved CanaVida, the property was beautiful, the condo was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were very happy and friendly. We used the laundry service, which was fast and a great price. The resort also arranged a massage for us and they came right to our room - it was also fantastic! The location is far enough from the busy town of Dominical and Uvita yet close enough to go into for shopping, restaurants and entertainment. We highly recommend CanaVida Jessica and her team are wonderful!

We loved Canavida! If you want the hustle and bustle of a city, this place isn't for you. But if you want to be in the middle of nature with spectacular views, this place is heaven. It is well equipped with everything you need, and is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Just make sure to bring in whatever groceries you need before you start the drive up the long dirt road. The road was fine, but we were glad we had a 4x4 with high clearance. We could have driven without it, but it was easy with it.

Highly highly recommend!

We had a lovely couple of nights here. The pictures do not so the villa justice. The view is just stunning, beautiful pool overlooking the sea. There’s also a bbq you can use which was great. Jess and her team were wonderful, I cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond for us. We got stuck with a flat tire when we arrived and they got it all sorted for us. Anything you need, the team are on hand are communicate with you from the minute you book.

The property consists of approximately 10 individually designed villas. So, I can only comment on our villa. Almost new, could do with wardrobes or at least more shelving. Access road is 6km along a very uneven dirt track, steep in parts. Managed with a smallish 4x2 SUV, but you would def be better off with a 4x4. Beautiful views, birds and the sunsets were gorgeous.

Breathtaking views in a natural setting

Beautiful location on the mountain but it is up a dirt road approx 15 minutes from the main paved road. The place was clean, sizable, and had all the amenities needed. The pool outside had gorgeous views. This place really makes you feel like you are in nature and we saw many birds (toucans, parrots, guan and turkey vultures). We heard the monkeys late in the evening and at night but never did lay eyes on them. From our table outside we could see the boats chasing the whales while we ate breakfast. We could see the whales spout/blow and even could see the tails as they eventually dove deep. It was a peaceful place.

Great views with good amenities.

Hotels dot com screwed up the reservation, but Jessica at the property did everything she could and made sure I️ have accommodations for my trip. She’s there to help and does a great job at that. The road going to the site is dirt, but that’s expected in CR. The pool at the smaller condos is amazing. Infinity, with fantastic views and the right depth to hang out and enjoy life. Definitely going back there the next time I’m in Uvita!!

The property was beautiful! The condo was comfortable, clean, modern and had everything we needed. The water was safe to drink, hot showers, BBQ. We used the laundry service it was quick and a good price. We seen monkeys, Toucans, parrots, and Morpho butterflies from the beautiful pool and lounge area. The customer service was amazing and everyone was very happy and friendly. They arrange a wonderful message for us and the therapists came to our room (it was SO GOOD!) the location is far enough away from the busy Dominical town, yet close enough for a visit and some shopping. Short drive to many beautiful beaches, gas stations, restaurants, waterfalls and shopping. Great communication from booking to check out. Jessica and her team did not disappoint!! Highly recommend CanaVida.

We drove from Ojochal side and the Google map link took us through the right road side. We eventually did get there. We stayed in Toucan (3 bedroom). The communication was on point. The road is indeed unpaved and it takes us about 15 min. We did have a 4x4 but didn’t really need to use the function only when it rained. We did notice the adjoining bedrooms, we can hear each other’s conversation. We were 2 couples and had to decide which rooms would give us more privacy. The place was real nice and cool. There’s AC in all the bedrooms and living room. The kitchen has most of what you’ll need to cook a meal. We couldn’t get the AC on and it was immediately addressed. We had to play with the shower to get the right temperature. It’s either very hot water or cold. We didn’t get a chance to address this. We’d stay here again. We felt safe and comfortable.

Pure Paradise at Casa Oropéndola – A Dream Getaway

We stayed at Casa Oropéndola at Canavida Resort from March 31st to April 4th, and it was nothing short of magical. The property is absolutely stunning—tucked into the lush hills of Uvita with breathtaking ocean views and surrounded by nature. Waking up to the sound of howler monkeys and tropical birds, then taking a dip in our own private pool while watching the sunrise—unreal. The 2-bedroom home is beautifully designed, with a perfect balance of modern comfort and eco-luxury. Everything was spotless and well-equipped, especially the kitchen, which made it easy to enjoy meals at home. We spent most of our time outside on the patio or in the pool, soaking in the peaceful vibes. The location couldn’t be better. It’s close to the beaches, waterfalls, and the national park, but still feels totally secluded and serene. The drive up is part of the adventure (definitely recommend a 4x4), and the views are 100% worth it. The hosts were fantastic—super responsive and thoughtful, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our return. If you're considering a stay here—do it. You won’t regret it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!
