Cool older hotel with some interesting carved pillars in the expansive lounge areas. The room was comfortable except we had a hard time finding enough room for our luggage without tripping on it. But it's on a quieter street adjacent to all the nightlife, shops restaurants and a quick meander to the beach. The big bonus, besides being cool in a slightly old-fashioned way, was the huge breakfast buffet they serve from 8 am to 12 noon. We had a back balcony with no view, but still nice to step out and the room was very quiet. Nice big shower!

Old school charm and superb value

This was a fantastic experience . Helpful staff, a great on site pool and an amazing breakfast to start the day. The hotel is charming and almost all rooms have a balcony to sit out on at the end of the day. The price of the accommodation is quite reasonable and they even provide you with a welcoming glass of wine on the beachfront rooftop of their sister property. It has been a long time since I have stayed in a hotel that over delivered on my expectations. The El Cid was a great place to experience the magic of Sitges

Exactly that it promises.

Simple, clean room for a great stay. No frills but super convenient—especially if you’re using public transportation. Easy check-in. The breakfast was honestly wonderful and it saved me a bunch not having to eat lunch. Great selection of hot and cold dishes. Would highly recommend.

The property although it may have been built in the 1960s, it has been well maintained. The rooms were always kept in great order and cleaned each day. The access to the beach was an added amenity that we could take advantage of and enjoy. The train station is within walking distance of the hotel, so you can get back and forth to Barcelona very easily. But don’t forget you may need 45 minutes to an hour to get to Bar! But the easy access to the beach makes it all worthwhile.

My colleague and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. First of all, the staff was very lovely and professional. We had a problem with the room I had booked, and the hotel was able to resolve the issue perfectly by giving us another room. The room was simple and adequate. The morning buffet was very good. We didn't use the pool. The hotel is not far from the beach and shops. It's a bit far to get to the city center of Barcelona, ​​but manageable by public transport. The hotel offers several advantages. I recommend it.
