I chose Petite Hostel for its excellent location, just seconds from Príncipe Pío station and about 7 minutes from Plaza de España and Gran Vía. The staff was friendly, and Fiorella was very courteous in helping me with my check-in. The surrounding area was very clean, and the breakfast was good. For my travel dates, only an 8-bed dorm was available, even though I wanted the 4-bed female dorm. The room was very small and cramped, making it quite uncomfortable. The storage is under the lower bunkbeds. The bed was comfortable, but I barely slept well because the lack of space amplified the noises. In all my travels, this is the first time I've had such inconsiderate roommates, constantly interrupting during the night. They also left the shower area soaking wet and brushed hair everywhere—very inconsiderate. Besides the room situation, I have no complaints.

overall stellar PERFECT LOCATION that is near Madrid’s perfect public transit system — one of the other guests meowed like a cat repeatedly during the night which was a little weird but more of a reflection of her than the place. Great accommodations and easy to lock stuff up. Cannot recommend more highly!

Good for the price!

Good location and good all round hostel. The pods were a good size with good curtains. Only down side was the rooms are quite hot when the curtains are closed. There is a toilet and shower in the room so you don’t need to keep using the communal ones. The location is great, close to Gran Via and a nice strole to El Retiro.

Nice stay in Madrid

It was a nice hostel but way too overpriced. I never paid so much in my life for a bed in a hostel (around 67 euros). Not sure if it’s because there is an event in the city or anything else. However, it the price would be a bit lower, I’d say it was a near perfect stay. It’s a good location, clean, I like the cubicles with the curtains and the lockers.

Nice hostel but my room stayed close to common area and I could hear people talking 2am. Bathroom Door squeaking loud, so I couldn’t sleep very well. But the hostel has a nice looking and the location is perfect! Just one block From the subway.

It's a good small/quiet and convenient hostel. Location is really good, metro/train station is just literally out side the hostel. From the station, easy conection to airport. Super store and shops are just around the corner. Royal Palace/gardens are just 10 minutes. Gran via is 15 and temple of debod & plaza de espana is also 10/15 minutes walk. Rooms and Wash rooms were clean. Staff was very helpful. Overall, good hostel with good location.

Not bad for a hostel

Not bad, would consider booking again. I liked the location and the fact that there was a curtain for privacy, also there was a small shelf and a power outlet. The bed was comfortable. There wasn't too much air in the room and the air condition did not seem to be working that well. It was hot and humid even in winter with 12 people sleeping there. Also, there was a window from my bed to a patio with no covers that opened automatically during the siesta, letting in 4 degree air from the outside.

If you value good service after a long journey when checking in at a hostel, I would suggest considering an alternative hostel or hotel. (Specifically, I am referring to the night staff, which consists of a young woman and a young man.) That said, if service is not your primary concern, I would still recommend this place. It is compact but fulfills the necessary requirements and is conveniently located near a metro station.
