Never judge a book by its cover

Disgusting - not as advertised in the photos in the Hotels.com website The website for The Jersey Arms Hotel shows it as part of the Cameron Hotel Collection - it’s clearly not but is using the same photos - I’m not sure if the Cameron Hotel Collection are aware…. The woodwork around the bedroom windows was rotten, some door windows had been replaced with wood, there was mould in several places in the bathroom, the shower fitments were rusty - there was one wall light and one table lamp to light up the whole room, no wardrobe - no bar, even though there’s a photo of one on the website - the only truthful detail about the hotel was that it was a continental breakfast !

The room was cold. Brought to the attention at reception but nothing was done. Will not stay again

Avoid avoid avoid

Nobody around when we arrived, just keys left on the desk empathising single women staying alone. Room door wouldn't lock, ceiling dangling down over the bed, in desperate need of a thorough clean, bannister barely hanging onto the wall. Totally unsafe & unclean. It was so late at night & nobody to speak to, we decided to leave and find somewhere safe for the night. Owner refused to refund. Avoid at all costs.

We recently spent a very enjoyable 4 night stay at the Jersey Arms. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Complimented by the very efficient and helpful manager. We would definitely stay there again

No staff no heating no restaurant

Booked for business trip, no one on reception on arrival or departure. No resturant or bar service available have to travel to Bicester for food. Continental breakfast in morning no staff. No heating in room or restaurant and no staff to communicate any issues with. Room was lovely though mattress needs replacing as springs have gone in it. Shower leaked and made horrendous noise. All windows had condensation in morning and blinds didn’t work. Have to leave shower window open for steam to clear as no fan. Poor overall wouldn’t recommend

6/10 Good

Nice place with character. Location was ideal for us. Only gripes was the room was very cold and breakfast had limited choice. Upon booking in the room was warm but from that point and the next two days, the heating did not switch on leaving the bathroom damp and cold along with bedroom being very cold. I did mention the lack of heating but as the heating was ok in the hotel, front of house did not take on board my concernes.

Quirky hotel with lots of character

I loved this quirky hotel. They bent over backwards to please us and although neither the bar nor the restaurant were operational they allowed us to bring drinks into the hotel and provided glasses and ice for us. the bedroom was huge and the bed was a queen bed and really comfortable. Yes there are things that could be done to improve this hotel but I loved it
Carole, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Power failed and could not be restored. No hot water on one morning. Quite a lot of noise from other rooms. Limited breakfast each morning. Staff were nice. Room was fairly inexpensive. The actual room was fine, but no cleaning or fresh towels during the stay and single towel just got damper and more cold each morning

Not the best but not the worst I have stopped at, needs tidying up and the bar and restaurant to be open.

Wedding trip

The hotel was ok not at the level you would expect for price. Looks like it has been taken over and they are in the process of renovating the property. What is nice, the area the hotel is In, lovely countryside and a few minutes of the M40.

The hotel is in a closed down pub, no food or drink. Very dated decor and not the cleanest, stayed for 4 nights and no room made up or cleqn towels etc, had to go and ask for loo roll. Nothing in the immediate area unless you drive. In fairness i do believe it might have just been taken over they need time to turn it around

Dirty bedding dust everywhere ,yellow sheets ,public hairs in the bathroom, very noisey from the rooms above ,restaurant disgusting dirty food area dirty floors ,breakfast was self service toast jam,the table clothes dirty on this area, I walked the staff around to show them all these faults, they said they will try better , I suggest they hire a cleaner .it needs a random hygiene inspection!!
