I don’t expect much by hotels like the Days Inn and so forth, in this instance - it was the only hotel that was affordable for one night (really just a few hours) while my family and I attended a wedding 8 minutes away. At first I assumed that by doing online check in, it meant I wouldn’t have to wait in line nor go through any paperwork once I got there.
Additionally - the check in asks to note when I expect to get there, so I put 4pm although I actually got there at 5pm. Mind you - check in is at 3pm. I was there two hours post check in and neither of the two rooms I booked were ready. The front desk shared they still weren’t clean (and let me tell you, they never got fully cleaned either). I will say the front desk was kind throughout and probably was the reason I was calm about the situation. She was able to get us into one of our rooms which unfortunately was dirty: fly roaming around, they bathed the room with chlorine but the mini fridge had the previous guest leftovers and there was a hair in the shower walls. We really just needed a place to lay our heads after coming back from the wedding so I’m not stressing over it but it definitely wasn’t the best start to our check in to come two hours post the check in time for the rooms to not be ready due to cleanliness and when we get the room, it wasn’t even fully clean. All in all, not a place I’ll need to be back at again but s/o to the front desk for being kind about it all.
