Overall, the hotel was lovely — clean, comfortable, and housekeeping were especially polite and helpful, even offering to assist with our bags due to the lack of a lift.
However, the experience was let down by a frosty and unwelcoming reception on arrival. We arrived early (knowing check-in wasn’t guaranteed), but the older blonde receptionist we first encountered offered no greeting, no warmth, and no alternatives. Her tone was abrupt, and we were cut off mid-sentence. A simple “Feel free to relax in the bar while you wait” would’ve made all the difference.
After speaking to other guests attending the same event — who booked for the same reason — we found we weren’t alone in that experience.
Customer service sets the tone, and sadly, it didn’t reflect the rest of the hotel’s standards.
