Lovely property great terrace to have a drink. Restaurant was good. Staff were excellent. Parking very easy and beautiful grounds. It does have a lift but not to all floors. We had a room that had the bathroom upstairs a bit dangerous in the middle of the night.

Unique and genuine character building. Large rooms, bathroom was upstairs and all new. Excellent restaurant with good value offering and friendly staff. Nice breakfast at extra cost. Pet friendly and enormous park for nice walks. Despite staying over a weekend with local guests and a wedding taking place, all was well organised and relaxed. Will come back with pleasure.

A real birthday treat

A super stay. Reception and waiting staff superb. Friendly, positive, effective. Room exceptionally good value and very comfortable although a little dated it was very clean and had good services. Our room was next to the lift so for us not quite a five star experience. Grounds, although parched were pleasant, the pkace looked as if it was being rejuvenated and, once complete it would be picture perfect. The food was divine!!

A very beautiful location that gives you the feeling of going back in time. The castle is enchanting but equipped with every luxury. Dinner has a wide choice, something for everyone. The breakfast had an extensive choice and everything was wonderfully fresh, from fruit to crossaints. The room was beautifully decorated in authentic style. High ceiling with upholstered walls. The bed was very comfortable, and they very kindly took our 2 year old daughter into account for an extra bed. Staff also very welcoming with compliments to Laura. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back!

We reserved at Castel Novel and also had made a restaurant booking on a Monday evening (confirmed by email) hoping to enjoy the tasting menu on offer. Unfortunately we were informed that the restaurant wasn’t open on Mondays and were directed to a nearby restaurant (La Caleche in Varetz). Sadly the offer was very different to what we were expecting as instead of a fine dining experience, we had to choose from the table d’hĂŽte menu made of: - Steak HachĂ© /Frites - Fish and chips - Galette complete (Ham and egg) - Dish of the day (they ran out so I couldn’t try) Followed by: Tiramisu, Creme BrĂ»lĂ©e, Ice Cream or Tarte aux noix. If you ask from sauces, please make sure that you check the use by date, the mustard sachets from the pot were out of date. What a disappointment!!! If I knew I will have booked another establishment for our last fine dining experience. The hotel itself still very pleasant despite finding in the corridor when we checked in our room: linen bags and rubbishes not to mention the 2 buckets collecting water from the celling (this is only a maintenance issue that cannot be hold agains the premises). I am very surprised that the restaurant is closed on Mondays during July and August as I am sure the 30 odds guests who stayed that night will have dine at Castel Novel restaurant. In another hand, the receptionist was very pro active and eased our stay with professionalism.

Le sĂ©jour en famille que nous avons passĂ© au Castel Novel Ă©tait trĂšs agrĂ©able. L’environnement et le bĂątiment sont magnifiques. Le moins de notre nuit rĂ©side dans le manque de modernitĂ© de la salle de bain qui pourrait ĂȘtre rĂ©novĂ© tout en gardant le style chĂątelain des chambres au prix de la chambre on s’attend Ă  mieux. Quand au petit dĂ©jeuner, franchement Ă©viter Ă  20€ par adulte c’est vraiment dĂ©cevant. Si c’était Ă  refaire nous ne le prendrions pas. La piscine est sympa et le parc magnifique. Nous n’avons pas tester le restaurant mais il a trĂšs bonne rĂ©putation.
