Nice getaway
Check in was really smooth, The lad on reception (Joe) we think is amazing, friendly and chatty and a credit to the hotel
Our room was cramped so wouldn't stay longer than 1 night but the bed was clean, bathroom smelt strongly of tobacco which was awful

Wonderful location, great views. Long queues to checkin, and a loss of electricity in my room but staff responded quickly and sorted it out. I will be staying here again.

The hotel has character
We stayed -1 level with window, room was clean and basic. Getting from the lift to the room was a maze of corridors. Breakfast was basic and didn’t think worth the £10. However would stay here again as the staff were friendly, Big shout out to Paul the linen guy who showed us a short cut to the lift from our room.

Grand but in need of some TLC
The Grand is an old hotel with very grand foyer the room I stayed in was basic, creaky floors and the bathroom could have done with some deep cleaning and some repairs. But for what I paid, i can't really complain. Id use the hotel again.

Overnight stay
An overnight stay at this rather grand hotel( at least in its hey day). Though in need of a refurb it was very good value for money, it’s not the ritz but we had a sea view, clean bedroom and en-suite . Fabulous communal sitting areas, reasonably priced drinks. If I’m being picky, the lifts smelled very damp and foisty.Reception staff/ waiting staff very helpful despite seeming to be overworked.

A lovely hotel full of beautiful architecture and history. Good customer service too!
However, the room that i stayed in wasn’t that clean. The bathroom had white stains on the floor and hair in the shower. There was also no towel provided.
