Great Location

Our stay was good. The view and location were excellent and we were able to walk everywhere. The staff was friendly and it was nice to have snacks and beverages available 24/7, and the morning water and snacks left for us was a nice touch. While the bed and pillows were very comfortable and we slept well, the room itself was austere. There was only one chair for the small table and no other chairs or sofa, so we either had one hard chair or the bed to take a break during the day before going back out. The fan only blows warm air (I asked front desk if it was broken, but they confirmed it's only warm) so if you sleep hot, or your stay is during the warmer months, you'll need to sleep with the windows open, so bring ear plugs.

Beware. Stairs to elevator and to top floor.

The hotel was nice and in the center of town. Beware that you MUST CLIMB ONE FLIGHT OF STAIRS TO GET TO LEVEL 2-5. if you reserve the top room ON LEVEL 6, you have to WALK UP ANOTHER FLIGHT OF STAIRS. this was difficult as we were on a two week cruise and had extremely heavy luggage. Other than the difficulty getting to our room- the hotel is a nice location to stay in Madrid.

The hotel is very close to the plaza mayor. However it was sold as close to the station and it really isn’t. The hotel premises are tired and odd, very dark common areas and mad staircases. Our room faced the street and wS incredibly noisy with cars and noisy people till round 2am, making it very hard to sleep. Much better soundproofing is needed for the location! On the positive side the staff were good and the place was clean. The free cofffee and snacks were nice and the fresh doughnuts in the morning are a nice touch. But given the cost we would have expected a much better hotel and we won’t be staying again.
