Very pretty hotel but low on comfort.

The hotel & rooms were very clean but the bed were harder then were use to and it was hot.
Ashley, 2-night trip

Average hotel for premium price

Very average room small but clean. Conveniently located at the train station. There are better or less expensive hotels in the area. Breakfast was very basic. Do not recommend.
Olga, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Awful

Terrible. Hotel is old and desperate need of upgrading and repairs. On top of that I booked a double room w a double bed and we were given a handicapped accessible room with two twin beds. Would never stay here again nor recommend to others!
Karen, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Close to train station, and easy walking to most restaurants and shops.

They advertise free parking but they only have 8 spots that are first come. Had to park down the street in a paid lot.

Needs some attention

Not good value for the price. If The King visited they would probably lose their “Royal” tag. Expensive and broken down. Cracked tiles in the bathroom floor. Towel heater in disrepair. Coffee bar not open in the morning.

It had lifts!
Karen, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Our room exceeded out expectations with a kitchen and huge bedroom. The washing machine a great perk as we have been traveling by tandem. Restaurant expensive but the food and portions were good. Staff responsive and efficient.
Meryl, 2-night trip

Staff was very helpful and supremely welcoming!
Marcelle, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Hotel is ok for an overnight stay and due to its proximity to the train and bus stations is well placed. However the furniture in our room was in poor condition and the cooked breakfast was not good value. In general it all felt a bit sad. Possibly stay at Premier Inn or similar next time.

Old and meh

Stayed there 2 nights. Girl behind the bar was lovely. Otherwise staff did not seem to want to be there. Managers seemed stressed and panicking about stuff. Cleaners wanted ad every time you passed them on the corridor if you were leaving and your room number, I don’t know why because our bed was not made or towels replaced. Hotel is well located but it’s not worth the money.
2-night trip

8/10 Very good

A lovely centrally located property conveniently located next door to the train station. Suffered from a broken elevator for the duration of our stay, which was tremendously inconvenient.
Agatha, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very convenient for the train station

Our first room was very spacious and airy with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotless and roomy. The second room was much smaller and the bed wasn't as comfortable as the first one. It overlooked a noisy passage way where bottles were emptied and people trundled their suitcases. The hotel in general looked a little tired and in need of an uplift.
Nora, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Brilliant hotel right from train station nice area for shop pubs and they have a lovely bar great pint walk to river side hotel 5star
Irene, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

While the exterior and staircase are appealing and are what initially drew me to booking a room here for our anniversary trip, there were incredibly loud sleeping conditions, peeling paint and questionable cleanliness of our room. Losing out on a pre-paid room and proximity to the bus and train stations are the only thing that kept us in the hotel for a second night so that we could leave first thing in the morning.

Isabel, 1-night trip

A good, convenient, hotel

The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the RR station. The room was quite large and comfortable. The breakfast was not very good so we found restaurants outside (which were nearby).
Robert, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

A lovely traditional Hotel right next to the Train station and a short walk to the bus station.

This once grand railway hotel is in poor and tired condition. Very overpriced
Catherine, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

The location is good but seemed like there was a lot of neglect for the rooms and amenities. Elevator was broken, rooms seemed dingy, parking was confusing and not much of it.
