The staff was very kind and attentive, which I truly appreciate. However, the hotel itself left much to be desired. There was a bad smell, the furniture was old, the carpet was dirty, and I had to call to get the sink fixed because it was clogged. I also saw a cockroach during my stay. Unfortunately, even though the staff was excellent, I wouldn’t return due to the condition of the place.

The room is very big and clean and the hotel other than that you can tell was very pretty.. the down side is the pool was closed and there were not shampoo's in the shower. Just soap. Overall it was better than i expected and it is better than all the other cheaper hotels in the Carlsbad area that I have stayed in and I've been in 5 of them over the past few years.

Although it’s not a 5 star hotel I do enjoy staying here. The beds are decent. The full sized fridge is awesome and the rooms are decently spacious. However I thought the rooms were a little overpriced and I felt like their staff was entering my room when I wasn’t there. If they fixed their pool and offered breakfast this place could make a complete turnaround.

This property had amazing staff. Our room had stains on the walls, the curtains had holes that were duct-taped together and there were cockroaches in the kitchen area. The pool and gym were both out of order and were not able to be used. Overall was not a great start to our vacation but we powered through.

The room waa fine overall. Not too many major complaints. The sink for the bathroom was a little clogged, the hallway to get to the room had a funky smell the further you walked down. No remote to the TV. Thwre was only 1 coffee and 1 augar in the room. The room was pretty clean and everyrhing worked. It was fine for sleeping and storing our things. Bonus was the full fridge and stove top. The vest part was being so close to the beach and Carlsbad village.

The location of this place is excellent. Everything we had plan to visit was nearby. But other than that, we had some issues. Door lock had some issues reading the key card and we found some roaches wondering in the kitchen area and also in the bathroom sink. And I think the cleaner forgot to take the dirty cloth after cleaning, they just left at the kitchen sink.
