Property was very outdated, dirty room, smell, and had roaches. Room did not have nightstands nor lamps, location of the hotel is ideal for visiting family and friends of Liberty University. This can be a great hotel to stay at due to the location. Major renovations is highly and greatly needed.

It is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Two of the rooms had bugs in the bed and we cancelled those rooms and 4 from our group went and found another hotel. In my opinion this place should be shut down until excessive cleaning and upgrades are made. I had 18 women from my church and it was very disheartening to me and the group. I will NEVER come back to this establishment. The only plus was Winston the desk clerk. He was very friendly and so apologetic. If the health department investigated it would be shut down NOW!

The property is just quite dated. It felt more like going to an old campground lodge but frankly is in a perfect location to Liberty University.

Kayla checked us in, she was very nice. However, the elevator was out the whole stay. Our TV was prompt up on the desk and didn't have a proper remote. There was no smoke detector, no cover on the vent in the bathroom. The flooring had a sinkhole that I almost tripped over. I came for my daughter's graduation. The free breakfast ended by 9am. The location was great. But for the price I had to pay, I don't think I should of had any issues

Ok for the price

I was visiting grandchildren. The room was adequate at best. The room was clean but very dated. The key cards didn’t work properly. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating which made the stay a pleasant one

Second night of two-night stay

The location is ideal for people needing a place to spend a night or two while in town for an event at the college or en-route to another nearby location, as we were. Rooms are reasonably priced, with complimentary breakfast. Wide variety of eateries within walking distance of the hotel. Safe neighborhood due to the college campus & campus security. Well-lighted parking lot. Pets are welcome. Friendly, helpful staff.

8/10 Very good

Our adult sons traveled with us and were very satisfied with their room. After a rocky beginning, we were assigned to a room with firm mattress and was clean, and well appointed. One particular front desk member was exceptionally kind, personable and went out of her way to make our four day stay comfortable as I am handicapped. The dining area was always clean, fruit fresh and waffle batter prepared each morning.

The staff members were very nice and the convenience to Liberty U excellent - those are the positives. The place-room are worn, smelly, bathroom door didn’t work, bed spread stained, a property that only commands the price it gets because of its location.

Towel hanger off the wall. Needed to ask for towels and blankets. Smells in the hallway. No food around the building.

Not the best.

The staff was friendly. The beds were comfortable. That’s the good news. Not a great stay. Elevator wasn’t working. The closet they had for us was blocked by the fridge and microwave so were unable to use it. The bedspread was as thin as the sheets. Asked for blankets and they both had holes in them. Brought in our own. Has to ask for everything. Towels, soap, toilet paper. Found 2 cockroaches during our 4 day stay. Very dated and rundown. Dealt with our own trash.

Sad hotel is going down hill.

Came to watch the Flames play. The room had noodles on the ceiling, hair dye on the shower curtain, and lamp. Check in-- the lobby was smelling of Marijuana. Stayed here in the past. Always clean. Never again.

I still have cigarette smell in my hoody from this place. Can't stand the smell of cigs, this whole place smells like them. The staff were very friendly and helpful though. This hotel is awkwardly nasty for being in such a relevant part of Lynchburg next to LU.

Very disappointing

The location is excellent, right next to the campus I was visiting. The receptionist was very helpful. Beyond this, I was extremely disappointed: the room had no blanket and no pillows, only one of the four lightbulbs worked, there was no cup for water, no chair to sit on. What's more, the carpet in the room and throughout the hotel was quite dirty.

Awful hotel in disrepair. Cockroaches, drug paraphernalia, no blankets, not enough towels, no shampoo, no tissues. So dirty. Great location right next to Liberty. Staff were nice but not always available. Try calling. Its almost impossible to get someone to answer the phone.

Not so Super 8

My son & I & his ESA dog were traveling thru town on our way to a destination 2hrs. N. of here on a peak leaf weekend. We decided to spend an extra night in Lynchburg to explore the area. Super 8 is pet-friendly & rates are economical. The first night we turned out the light to go to sleep and the TV went off and when we went to turn it back on it gave us a message that said it was “locked”. It took most of my evening to deal with this issue just to be able to watch the World Series Game 2. Now I’m spending even more time to tell you what happened and for what compensation?
Barbara, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. I will agree with other reviews that it is in serious need of a deep clean and an update. That being said i never saw a single bug anywhere in the hotel. The halls and lobby always smelled good, like they had just been cleaned. The hotel was quiet and the bed was comfortable. My husband and I slept great all 5 nights. The best part of the stay was how friendly and attentive the 2 ladies were that worked the front desk in the evening and overnight. They always greated us with a smile and the one time we had an issue with our room it was fixed immediately. We didn't partake in the free breakfast however from what i saw of it eveeything looked good. Yes this hotel is old but for the price of our stay and how friendly the staff was the other things could easily be overlooked.

If you like the smell of Paint Thinner, pot, cigarettes and Curry then you are welcome to stay here. God bless the staff, they mean well but this property needs major repairs. We were on the 3rd floor and the elevator hasn’t worked in a week. The key cards for locks rarely work and outside doors are held open by rocks because the door locks don’t work. The showers are beyond cleaning, they need to be torn out and replaced. Needless to say we did shower in 2 days and if you needed to sit on the toilet, you walked Nextdoor to the restaurant. Sorry owners, but $998 for 2 nights at your property is a disgrace for it’s condition!!
Bruce, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

I fully accept that they needed a cash deposit, but I felt it to be insulting. The key card did not work - it took several passes to get into the room every time. I don't know if they need new cards or if the problem was the door, but it needs to be fixed. I got one little pillow and they did not have more. There was no remote for my TV. There was no trap on the sink, so a lost a pendant from my necklace. On the good side, the staff was very nice and they tried to be helpful.
Carolyn Sue, 1-night trip

Do not recommend staying in this hotel! When we arrived, we were given a room on the third floor and told that the elevator was broken. (We later read reviews that had been posted three months prior to our stay mentioning the broken elevator.) The room had a very unpleasant odor. The television did not work and when they came to check it, they said we did not have a cable box so they had to get one for us. Breakfast was less than mediocre. Worst of all, we later discovered bites on our bodies that we are certain were bed bugs!! The best feature of this hotel is its location, within walking distance of Liberty University. But it's not worth the price or the condition of the place to stay there. Will never return.
Glenn, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

You think it's bad. And you are right.

This motel needs a reboot. The manager is kind, professional, and so much better than this place. They wanted a $100 cash deposit because their other guests were destroying the rooms. They had only one towel for our room. When we asked for more, they told us none were available. We checked in late in the evening, and a bunch of people were smoking weed and cigarettes outside. The room had sticky carpet, screw holes in the bathroom where it looks like a shelf was ripped out of the wall, and my sinuses were under attack. I don't know if there was mold, but it smelled very musty. Read the other reviews. Believe them and don't stay here. You can find cheaper rooms in Lynchburg that are clean with more comfortable surroundings. In the room next to us, a domestic violence incident started at about 2 AM and kept going. I felt unsafe and laid awake trying to decide if it would be better to sleep in the car. I don't blame the staff because they don't have the authority or autonomy to make changes. And the day staff were pretty good.

Well, when we arrived the lights were off in the lobby which were a little bit sketchy.... I got over it.. checked into our room. The iron and the ironing board were missing on the wall. The coffee pot was missing... Woke up in the morning to go to The breakfast bar. It was pretty bare but not really a complaint. The coffee was fresh so that was good..... Went back to the room. Turned the lights on realized that there was mold on the lamp shades throughout the room. The toilet was loose on the floor. The towel rack and the shower curtain rack looked like they had been ripped out. There was holes in the ceiling haphazard paint job throughout the room. The one of the beds was a little off kilter. The sink was coming off the wall in the bathroom and the hair dryer was missing and everything had been kind of lathered and multiple colors of paint come to find out talking to the nice people that work there that I guess one of the rooms down the hall one had a sprinkler system flood that room and I guess other adjacent rooms which I guess may have been one of ours which explains why the carpet was brand new but there was corrosion on all the lamps that were made of stainless steel by the way and the beds were not very comfortable at all.... I never complain about hotel rooms and this is the first time in my entire life that I actually went to the front desk and I didn't start off with a complaint.
