8/10 Very good

Comfortable stay

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location close to Big Sky town square & resorts, but far enough away.

Almost hate to tell people about this but literally a treasure in the Yellowstone and Big Sky region. Service, food and especially rooms are top notch. Close to a Yellowstone and great amenities close like ATV, horse rides, fishing and rafting

If you are looking for a beautiful room with a fireplace, and a bustling river view, this is the place. Oh, and the restaurant is five stars.

8/10 Very good

Nice rustic resort. Two queen beds are separated by a door which is nice. Not fancy but very clean. Very nice responsive staff. Great included hot breakfast with enough options for most to be happy. Went for skiing. Loved the hot tub. Beautiful spot and likely even more beautiful in warmer weather. Walls a bit on the thin side but comfortable beds.

Beautiful setting. Quiet. Wonderful staff.

We stayed in the Porcupine cabin. It was clean and had high end furnishings throughout. Casey at the front desk was very helpful with our questions and Dagen gave us a tour of the beautiful property. These two worked hard to make our stay memorable. Highly recommend!!

The staff was really helpful when we had to leave a day ahead of our checkout due to a winter storm. The grounds of this facility were beautiful and I wish we could have stayed and enjoyed it and the restaurant. I would certainly like to go back.

6/10 Good

Close to big sky

The stay was ok. People were kind and friendly and well intentioned. I guess the property is rated higher by people who chose it as a romantic retreat. It would be very helpful if during ski season the property would open earlier than 8am so that people who are there for skiing don’t have to rush through breakfast worried that the parking lots in big sky will be full by the time they make it up there. For the price per night, the bathrooms really need to be updated. They have a nice hot tub though. Anyway, I have the feeling that that whole area is overrated.

This place is a hidden gem! Located on the beautiful and tranquil Gallatin River, it near the highway but has the feel of seclusion. The staff are all amazing. I can’t say enough good things about Rainbow Lodge. We felt like we had the place to ourselves but there were other guests present. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous. The bed was comfy and the fireplace made it even more relaxing. We stayed in Osprey and had a beautiful view of the pond. Wildlife wanders on the property at dawn and dusk. The breakfast is the best I’ve ever had! It was made to order and was delicious. The staff were great at suggesting local places to sightsee and were so hospitable. If I could give Rainbow Ranch more than 5 stars I would. We will be back. It was our favorite place to stay hands down!

4/10 Fair

Overall disappointment

We were disappointed overall. The value for the price was not good. The breakfast was comparable to or less than any motel that offers breakfast. Half of the lights in our unit did not work. The water faucet by the coffee maker did not work. The bed was not all that comfortable. The setting was very nice. The shower was great.
Larry, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Rainbow Ranch Disappointment

We were so excited to stay at Rainbow Ranch. I had been told how wonderful it was. We were in the Buffalo room. The tub was dirty and there were 4 dead flies in the toilet. The water barely trickled out of the bathroom sink and bathtub shower. By the time we checked in staff was gone for the night. The bed was comfortable. Overall for $500 the condition of the room was very poor. I would not recommend staying here. The room (possibly others) needs a serious upgrade. I do not think anything has been changed since the 80s.

A truly wonderful property on the Gallatin River. The staff were very friendly. Moved us to a riverside room at no extra charge for our two nights. Bartender was great. Dinner was excellent. And they have amazing wine list. The place offers the Montana Big Sky feel. Would definitely return.
John, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Excellent place to stay !! The rooms are great, breakfast was very good each day. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable of the area and very friendly. The dinner service is excellent and the chef creates incredible dishes from scratch. We took our son for his 21st. birthday and he loved it. He said it was the best meal he ever had. The bar is well stocked and the wine list is extensive with great wines. The wine list has a very wide price range and Juan will help you choose an excellent bottle to go with your meal. If you are fly fishing the Galatan river or going to visit Yellowstone from the west yoou should stay here.
