Beautiful hotel tucked away from the touristic downtown but still close enough to walk to. The room was clean, comfortable and had a great courtyard view. The restaurant/bar on site was convenient with a descent spread for breakfast. There was parking on site, but you may want to call ahead and reserve a spot if possible.

We had an overall nice stay! The room and bed was comfortable, and it was pleasantly cool in spite of no air-conditioning. The breakfast was the best thing in my opinion, the buffet had a good variety to chose from and it tasted great. Negative points for badly equipped fitness room that was not even included in fee (extra 4 euro per day), and lack of shielding in the bathroom causing water to flood all over the bathroom and into the hallway when showering.

Prima Hotel ohne Klimaanlage

Ein schönes Hotel nahe dem Zentrum von Bamberg. Das Zimmer (wenigstens unseres) war zwar alt - aber gepflegt. Das Bett war prima bequem. Der Service war gut, ein - und auschecken ging flott. Für diejenigen, die Nachts noch Durst bekommen, gibt es im Haus verteilt Automaten. Leider oft in dunklen Ecken wo man mit dem Telefon leuchten muss um die Bedienung lesen zu können. Das Parkhaus ist mit 18 Euro pro Tag akzeptabel. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Was fehlt, ist eine Klimaanlage. Das war zwar jetzt im verregneten Juni 2024 nicht wirklich nötig, aber für ein 4-Sterne Haus dürfte das im Sommer nachteilig sein.

Das Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und hätte mal eine Renovierung nötig. Das Bad ist sehr alt und stellenweise arg abgenutzt. Ein Unding ist das Duschen in einer Badewanne. Im Zimmer fehlen die grundsätzlichen Basics, wie Klimaanlage oder eine Möglichkeit, seinen Koffer abzulegen. Das Frühstück ist auch nur Durchschnitt, die Backwaren sind alle sehr trocken und krümelig. Da sollte man vielleicht auf einen ansässigen Bäckermeister zurück greifen. Da das Hotel sehr groß ist, ist das Frühstückaufkommen sehr stark. Die Atmosphäre und Lautstärke gleicht einer Bahnhofshalle. Oft war es schwierig einen freien Tisch zu bekommen. Für den Zimmerpreis hätte ich mehr erwartet. 4 Sterne sind einer zu viel.

Lovely hotel but road-facing rooms not worth the £

The hotel itself is very impressive and nice. The rooms are large and roomy. No air conditioning made it uncomfortable with a baby in the heat. The breakfast was a great perk. Our main issue was the noise, the first night we and the baby did not sleep. Granted, there was a festival that was loud until about midnight but drunk people, cars and in the morning lorries/trucks kept us awake. We were in a road-facing room and weren’t advised of this - with the heat it would have been great to open the windows but the noise made this impossible. A heads up from the staff would have been appreciated, we could have at least left the hotel to get the baby to sleep. We moved rooms for the second night which was much better, but the room was not worth what we paid for it given the noise. Similar reviews suggest this is a common issue.
