The staff was friendly & helpful. It is a charming hotel. Brings you back when life was simple. It was comfortable & it has alot of history. I liked it better than some high end chain hotels. The hotel is extrememly clean & the towels were nice & fluffy.

The owner is very nice. He goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Main St. Pizza also has good food and ice cream, next-door to the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. It is very nice and clean. If I have any business in Hobbs or Lubbock, I will definitely drive an hour to stay at The Hotel Texan instead of staying at any other hotel.

Very cozy, historic hotel! I loved my room, it was very comfortable and homey, both the bed and couch were very nice. I really enjoyed talking with Gareth who checked me in as well, he was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and the history of the hotel, and just fun to chat with. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in this area, and also for anyone who is interested in historical places.

Affordable diamond in the rough.

A truly charming old hotel with nice enough beds and other modern upgrades. Highly recommended for value and history. Great family patio with games. My room 201 had an ocean sailing theme...in West Texas. Loved it.

I love this place.

The staff was friendly, the hotel is clean, they have a 24 self-serve kitchen at no additional cost. Great pizza place right next door. My room was neat and homey. Bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable. I will definitely be back.

I loved the historical sense that you get from walking in. The people are friendly, and the rooms are comfortable while maintaining that historic feeling. We loved the cats that all welcomed us as well!! Really great experience!!!

quick trip to TX

The place was like home away from home with amazing history to keep you interested in every inch of the Hotel. Every thing was so very clean and orderly you would think there's a full staff that follows you around cleaning behind you.

a slice of history

A wonderful place to stay. Victorian furniture everywhere but with modern conveniences. The owner and the receptionist were friendly and took the time to visit and make sure we were happy. The homemade banana bread and muffins were delicious. A perfect stop. The koi pond in the back garden was unexpected and delightful.

Fantastic time capsule!

The Hotel Texan was a wonderful place to stay! The owner was amazingly helpful, and it was a very cool building and "feel." I was there for the eclipse, and they actually had viewing glasses for their guests. The breakfast was wonderful (breakfast burritos). I really enjoyed my time there, and would recommend it heartily! I truly loved the antiquated vibe of the hotel, this one is fantastic!

Very charming and nostalgic. Beds were very comfortable. Gareth was the perfect host and made us feel very welcome. We ate at Main St daily as it was very convenient and everything I ordered was very tasty. Don’t forget to get some ice cream too! 😋

Historic Stay- Don’t miss!

We really appreciated the hospitality of the owner of Hotel Texan. He was the best host we could hope for. When he directed us to local museum we were surprised with what an excellent place existed in the small town. The room was great. The coffee and snacks were good. Pizza next door was very good. It’s been our best stay so far on western trip. One regret from my wife- we forgot to get a slice of the wonderful bread for the road.

I booked a room at the Hotel Texan as a stopping point after the first leg of my drive from Alabama to the Southwest. I wanted something budget-friendly with a little character and charm — and it didn’t disappoint. I arrived later than expected, around 9 p.m. local time, but the owner met me in the lobby right away, walked me to my room, and made sure I got settled. The moment you step into this turn-of-the-century building, you’re hit with this rich, historic vibe. The seating area behind the lobby feels like an old-timey saloon, and the shared kitchen is stocked with all kinds of snacks and Keurig options. (Yes, I absolutely snagged an Uncrustable before bed — zero regrets.) I stayed in the Peach Room, which was perfect for a quick but comfortable night’s rest. Crisp, comfy linens, plenty of fluffy towels, and a space that feels updated without losing its old-world charm. The building itself is over a hundred years old, and the renovations strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and “step back in time” character — creaky wood floors and all. But honestly, the highlight of my stay was the conversation I had with the owner, Gareth, early the next morning. Even at the crack of dawn, his hospitality and kindness stood out. If you’re passing through the Seagraves area and want something unique, something with personality instead of the sterility of a big chain hotel, definitely check out this tucked-away little gem.
