8/10 Very good

Charming old hotel. Exudes history. Tiny shower, but it works. Clean room & linen. Pub is very friendly, as are staff. Great location.

A great place to stay! Private and shared spaces, 2 full bathrooms! Parking is tricky to find, and expensive in the lots! Lovely area to enjoy, very close to the lake.
Margaret, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The pub was very convenient for dining and drink options. The room was very clean but due to the live band it was extremely loud and little sleep was possible before 1:00 a.m.

We got a great welcome at the Angel, The pub/hotel is quirky and full of character. The food was really good and the staff couldn’t be nicer. It is a pity that you can’t make a hot drink in your room as there is no morning catering. I would highly recommend this place.

A lovely old inn with decent space for all of us, clean, well kept with one of the comfiest beds we have ever slept in. Would happily stay again.

Staff very good. Room clean.
Andre, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

It's situated right inbthe middle of town with lots of shops within walking distance. There was very little need to interact with the staff aside from checking in which was convenient and the rooms were clean and tidy. It's nothing fancy but it meets your needs for a short stay. However during the summer there was live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights that went until 1230am which was very loud if you were in your room so if you are someone who is early to bed, be ready.
James, 2-night trip

Great location and heritage property. Bar was lively and a short stumble back to the room.
Micheline, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good location for shopping and food. Weather was really hot so we did not bike or hike. Beautiful town
Susan, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The staff was amazing and it was a comfortable stay. No parking on the property, but you can park for free on one of the side streets. Just ask staff where that is and they will guide you. We did not know that there wasn’t housekeeping services, but when you ask they will provide you with anything you need (towels, etc). The food downstairs is excellent and we highly recommend. We sat outside in the patio which was so nice and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay very much and it’s so walkable to everything NOTL has to offer.

It was very well located. Nice pub below. Right in the center of town

Awesome pub! Live music and great food! Room was very clean and highlighted the history and character of a true historical inn.

Honestly, our stay was a bit disappointing. The rooms are incredibly small, the air conditioner is so noisy that we decided to open the windows instead, but had to prop them open with a garbage can because they kept closing. Overall things just feel a bit tired and old. However, the staff were very friendly, and the pub is a blast.

We had a wonderful time at the inn. Perfectly located just a block off the main strip. The pub is very cozy and had great entertainment and energy throughout the evening. No ghost sightings but maybe on our next trip.
Timothy, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Liked the old wood beams & flooring. Friendly staff. Stayed in the Captain’s Room which we knew is above the bar and could be noisy. We slept okay with the A/C white noise & ear plugs. But we’re surprised how loud the bar was even on a night without a band playing. Bathroom seemed newly renovated. Bed was comfortable. Food in the old English style pub on the main floor was delicious (fish & chips and a seafood pie). We ate out in the patio area. Great location. Close to shopping, restaurants and a 10 min. walk to Shaw Festival venues. Would recommend this hotel, just maybe not the Captain’s room if you’re a light sleeper.

This is an excellent choice if you want to stay in a part of history in an excellent location. The rooms are unique and well decorated. No parking on site but tips are given at check in on where you can park for free or there is metered parking outside, which we chose. Food in the pub is recommended, staff friendly and overall a great spot to hang out. Not recommended on a busy night if you want an early night, but I would recommended soaking up the atmosphere.
