Really beautiful hotel in the city center close to the river. I would have prefered a view on the river. A bit of strong smell from the toilet but nothing so dramatic. Staff very friendly and polite.

I stayed in July. It was 27-30 degrees outside. The hotel had no air-conditioning. Only one of the windows in the room opened a small bit. The other window was locked. The feeble fan in the room did little to overcome the stiffling heat in the room. It was impossible to sleep due to the unmanageable heat. Such lack of ventilation is a health risk factor especially for older people. The bathroom is so narrow you have to sit sideways in the toilet. This hotel trades on its old world charm. But it is dark, stuffy and unwelcoming and in need of repair especially the windows. There are steps up to the entrance and no ramp.

Scandi gothic

The hotel was built in 1927 and the decor has not been changed since. It was clean and the linens were fresh and new. However the furniture in our bedroom looked as if it belonged in a £99 per night b&b. The bathroom had nowhere to rest wash bags, the walk in shower was fine but I have not seen an over the loo cistern with a pull chain in a very long time. The extraordinary dining hall, where breakfast was served was like walking in to a massive scandi gothic film set. Not for the faint hearted.

The hotel was old but in good standard. Breakfast was fresh and wide but glasses was dirty. The restaurant in the basement was one of the worst experienced. Ordered beef tartar and the meat was oxided. Pommes was cold. Got new after 25 minutes. They had ketchup as side dip... My partner ordered fish with scrimpsauce. No scrimps at all. They forgot to take wineorder for main cource. But on the other hand they forgot to bill us fir the wine. Staff must have been taken from the street. Not a restaurant in Grand Hotel class

Todella kuuma heinäkuussa, uneton yö takana kun huoneessa ei ilmastointia ollut. En voi suositella. Ehkä talvella kokemus olisi erilainen. Lastenvaunujen kanssa hankala kulkea, pääovesta ei pääse sisään. Hyvä aamupala ja huoneessa oli siistiä. Henkilökunta kertoi, että vain osassa Superior huoneista on parveke tai sauna joten niitä olisi pitänyt toivoa etukäteen, joka tuli hieman yllätyksenä.
