Pleasant staff. The hotel has a grandeur about it, but those days of grandeur are long gone. The hotel staff must do a great job, not the expense it must incur to maintain such a grand place.
Our room was clean. The lobby was impressive and comfortable. There was no rush to leave the hotel after we checked out, which help our circumstances as our flight was a late flight.
We had a room facing the rear, which had a disappointing view. Also our window was a wee bit grimey and probably not had a clean in a long time.
Perfect location to explore the Buxton, near the Crescent and Opera house, restaurants and cafes. Aldo, bang next door to the train station on the Manchester line.
Altogether, we had a great stay. However, I wouldn’t like to stay during winter or when it’s quiet. With all those long corridors, it would have a bit of the Shinning feel about it, with thoughts of Jack Nicholson wandering the corridors.
