Great location, the free breakfast was great! Everything was very walkable from the hotel. I didnt give them 5 stars because there is a lot of construction in the building so it can be loud and we asked fr our rooms to be near each other and no one saw that in the comments until we arrived and it was too late to accommodate.

Loved everything about this place - nice location and rooms, excellent staff, great breakfast. Only issue was my junior suite was above a club that played music until 3am. Luckily it was more of a piano club so no drums, but still interrupted my sleep

Solo Senior Traveler.

This was an amazing week in a well-located hotel. The food was incredible. Service excellent. Room very big with warm bathroom tiles, fridge, great internet. Most of all the staff was superb. The hotel layout was a little complex in room assignment. I had a beautiful stay and would definitely recommend this Thon Hotel Cecil.

Hotel was nice. Reception staff were A+ polite, helpful and interested in how you were. Travelled alone with room appearing to be a large single rather than a double. It could also get quite noisy as i was on the main street above a bar. Breakfast was good but the hotel does suffer from a lack of bar.

Okay. Ugly building with only a light well view out. Small but adequate room. Good location. Parking was complicated and expensive. Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was the standard Thon fare—designed to wow. I did appreciate the two dishes with lots of kale.

We loved our stay at Thon Hotel in Oslo. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the central train station, but tucked away enough to feel peaceful and calm. The location is ideal—just a few minutes from Aker Brygge, where you’ll find tons of restaurants, bars, and beautiful harbor views. It was the perfect base for exploring the city. From morning walks along the waterfront to enjoying Oslo’s modern art, food, and even a quick fjord dip—it was all super accessible. The room was stylish, quiet, and comfortable—everything we needed after a day out and about. There was some construction on our floor during the stay and one of the elevators was out, but it wasn’t a major inconvenience. Would absolutely stay here again!

Best stay in Oslo

Can’t be any happier with our stay at Thon Cecil. Location is fantastic, direct train from airport to National Theatre Station & just a 5-7 mins straight road to the hotel. Hotel is conveniently located next to a Christmas market & walkable to many popular spots. Breakfast spread is great too, and light dinner on weekdays are good way to end the day. While room is small, zero complains since its value for money.

Marvelous Stay!!

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Thon Hotel Cecil. The young women at reception were fantastic and so kind and helpful. We had a couple minor issues with our room we didn't notice until the first morning, but when we told reception, they gave us a time they would look at the problems (also informed we could switch rooms if the issues weren't solvable). We walked around Oslo for a while, and when we returned, the minor issues were fixed. Couldn't be happier with the communication and assistance. The breakfast in the morning was phenomenal also. Absolutely 10/10 and if we get the chance to come back to Oslo again, would definitely stay here.
