Stay in the castle

Stay here if you want to experience staying in an old castle. The room is spacious, but the furnishings are outdated. Several essentials were missing — no mini fridge, no air conditioning, and only a shampoo/handwash combo provided. There was no conditioner or body lotion. The sauna area is also with limited services.

Thrilling historical settings at amazing rates.

This is a hidden gem, where you can experience to stay in a genuine castle, often at rates that are lower than a hostel in more well-known destinations. In some rooms you really can feel the history in the walls and under the unbelievaby beautiful ceilings. We've been here several times, but the experience is fantastic every time, and the junior suite we got this time, was just absolutely fabulous. Neustadt Glewe is a very charming and quiet village, that also boasts a medieval castle, and loads of half-timbered houses. It's a perfect and relaxing getaway.

Old charm castle with tea station

Castle was lovely <3 We (adult daughter and me) booked a superior double on the road around 22:45 about 30km away and therefore didn’t manage to get there before 23:00 (but 23:05) so reception was closed and no personel was there anymore; however everything worked smoothly by phone and we got the and quidance and as a suprise an upgrade to Junior suite, wich was the safest way to avoid my feather allergies :) Breakfast was good with tea station <3
High ceelings with stuckos, curtains and furniture made the old charm complete <3 Room was warm and cosy despite the snow storm outside

Outsiden condition of Building is rather poor. Small village with almost no other options. Our room was gone and they did offer us a smaller room that was totally dark and with very old furniture. The lowest has been, that the hotel had a wedding party ongoing and that they did close the restaurant for Guete that have not been part of the wedding group!!!! Totally innacceptable , since the village does not offer any other, valid alternate! Overall , a very lousy way of threatening guests and the current rating is at least one point too good!

Pretty ok-ish

We expected to be sleeping in the schloss itself, but unfortunately the family rooms are in another building. We waited a couple of minutes at the reception, some of the staff does not speak English at all. One of our rooms reeked of smoke, clearly the previous tenants smoked there heavily. We were given a different room on another floor, which was clean. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms rather old-fashioned, curtains are tiny. Breakfast was ok, but there were tiny flies everywhere, which was a bit gross. Beds were ok. The prices were low enough to justify this pretty mediocre experience, but it’s a shame because it looked like a really nice place in the pictures. The highlights: Schwerin is nearby, and the fantastic Asian restaurant just up the street from the hotel (barely 4 minutes walk).
