The staff are very friendly and welcoming. More than willing to solve problems. I am learning to speak French and so I was grateful to converse with the maid. The maid was the real saving grace! Unfortunately the excellent service does not make up for terrible design issues. Perhaps too much effort was made on trying to create “style” and not enough on the basic utilities associated with a hotel. Guests require the receptionist to come to the room to change the air conditioning. Temp control is the minimum requirement to call yourself a hotel. Second, there is no water or tea making facilities in the room. Third, the initial room I was given was facing a brick wall. Fourth, the towels are old and small. This hotel looks like a french chateau on the photos. It’s not. Fifth, the breakfast was motorway service station. Overall this is an overpriced air b and b in the middle of a motorway. Ibis need to start again here and create a hotel instead of trying to ape a bansky art shop which I am afraid just does not work. I would not stay here again I am afraid.
