We had a fantastic stay at The Lion Hotel. From check in to when we departed all staff were welcoming & friendly. Room was great-clean and bed was so comfortable. What a great hotel in a good location. The building is full of character with original build. So good to stay in hotel with a real history instead of sterile new builds. Reception staff and dining room staff were good and the breakfast was excellent. Would recommend this hotel for its quirkiness and original features.

We had a very nice stay at the Lion. It's a fascinating old building in a great central location. The rooms are basic, but very clean and the bed was comfortable with great pillows. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is a little frayed around the edges, but that adds to the character! The staff were all lovely and very helpful.

Very old style. Not really my thing. I felt it was over-priced for what it was. No lift, but someone did help with my case. Ripped curtain in one of our rooms, remote held together with tape in the other room. I wouldn’t want to stay here again but if you like old style you might like it.

The Lion Hotel is a warm, welcoming, cheap and cheerful hotel. Service at reception is excellent and staff are so friendly and helpful. If there was an award for a hotel with the creakiest stairs and floors this could win it! Interior is dated and needs a refresh. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Location was perfect for our weekend in Shrewsbury. Customer service is excellent. When we return to Shrewsbury for another weekend break, we'll definitely consider coming back to The Lion Hotel.
