WV

I have stayed here twice and the area around the hotei has gotten worse lots of homeless people in the area around the hotel. Iwas given a room that had not been cleaned the second room did not have a microwave as listed they did bring one to my room afer i mentioned it to the front desk. The room was nice clean bed was comfortable.

Good stay

Hotel is renovating so it’s lacking some things right now. No pool. Hot breakfast is next door at sister hotel. Did have coffee in the lobby tho. We had an issue with our AC leaking and when we told front desk, they were quick to change our room. Very responsive. Fairly comfortable stay. It was super quiet since fairly empty but we got a good deal on nightly rates and we were happy.

Just okay

Room was okay. Tv remote did not work and had to have the maintenance replace batteries and re sync to the TV. Also a lightbulb was burnt out on the side table lamps. Elevator was sketchy but also looked like it was mid renovation. Overall an okay stay!

Nice place

No issues. Hotel needs some repairs made to it. Light bulbs out, elevator none of the button lights or floor your on displayed. But for the price it was worth a few button lights being out. Room was as described clean and nice.

Stay

The hotel was nice the pool and gym was closed and we had to switch rooms due to a bug problem other than that the staff was nice and funny and it was quite comforting
Sucora, 2-night trip

Cheap

The room is as clear as the picture. The neighborhood has been passed by and the hotel and parking lot are run down. The people were nice and friendly. The wifi does work well.

4/10 Fair

Disorganized

The hotel was shut down for renovations. They did not answer phone (it rang out) or forward calls to the hotel next door where one of the two rooms we reserved had been transferred. Very poor processing. The stay at the Quality Inn next door was good once they gave us the 2nd room.
John, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Found an open package of men’s hair treatment under the bench in the room. Homeless people fighting in the parking lot. Altogether, the hotel was pretty clean though, staff was really nice, and it was very close to downtown

10/10 Exceptional

Hotel is dated and being worked on. The staff is amazing, Ms. Lawade is one of those people that not only took care of a mix up in reservation but made sure everything was good with our stay. She deserves 5 stars! The room was quiet very clean and the bed was comfortable. Enjoy your stay here.
Sharon L, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

It's a hotel

Our room was fine and had easy access to downtown Charleston. I wasn't impressed with the condition of the hotel, particularly the elevators. The slot next to the working controls is boarded up and the working elevators are in need of cleaning. Continental breakfast was in the hotel next door. While we were there it was almost constant hangout / drug usage across the street (at least it wasn't in the hotel parking lot) and as we were leaving a girlfriend/boyfriend dispute from someone who had stayed at the hotel got loud with plenty of shouting. It didn't seem that out of character for the clientele.
Tyler, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Don’t go here

First of all they changed their name to best western so we spent an extra half hour trying to find the place. The reception, room and halls we updated beautifully. But the one elevator that worked for 8 floors was very dangerous and had not been inspected since January 2024. There was an ice machine on every floor, only 2 worked. Breakfast was in the motel next door. The neiborhood was scary and they overcharged us by over $50

Clean helpful staff delicious breakfast and right there near everything u need
Ricky, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

With this hotel, you get what you pay for. It is an older hotel, so there are some expected shortcomings. They are in the process of renovating but there is a long way to go before it is completed. Pros: price, location, updated and clean rooms, friendly staff, free parking, free wifi. Cons: outside is in very poor condition, only one working elevator and it working is a stretch, hallways are hot and humid, housekeeping left bags of trash and dirty sheets from multiple rooms in the hallway overnight, their website says free breakfast but there was none and we was told to go to the hotel next door for breakfast. Not a terrible stay for the price but be aware of why the price is cheap.
