Fantastic hostel, which is more like a hotel! Everything is so clean and new. The place is really spacious - including all common areas, rooms, bathrooms, and it’s a comfortable place to hang out. Staff are really friendly- I don’t know all of their names, but I remember Clara at breakfast was helpful and sweet! The breakfast was delicious - better than most hotel breakfasts I’ve had. I have stayed in a lot of hostels and this is one of the best. The area is cool and trendy, with so much to do and Would love to come back again. The hot and cold water station was very much appreciated :)

The location and infrastructure of hostel is not bad but it got diminished from the get go by the staff that is quite short and unhelpful. The first day we did not have a toilet as the door was broken and we had to use the public bar toilet in a different building. We let the staff know and they said "we're not going to call a technician on the weekend because it isn't an emergency". Ultimately they just removed the door and lock so we could use the toilet but not close the door which was better than no toilet

A fabulous budget option for central Madrid

It's easy to flinch a bit when you hear the term "hostel" but the Central House in Lavapiés in Madrid isn't just a clean, comfortable place to stay. With a funky bar that has something fun programmed every night (walking tours, trivia nights, language exchanges) and super-helpful staff who know the area inside and out, it's a great resource for getting to know Europe's most vibrant capital city. It's located within walking distance of the Plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol, with lots of great bookstores, bars and restaurants nearby, and is easy to reach by public transit.

Very clean and comfortable. Each of my family members were able to get their own bunkbed which we all loved a lot. Great location, accessible to everything the city has to offer: food, attractions, travel, tourist sites. Would definitely come here again.
