Million dollar view and awesome pool/s. The room was nice but the bed was rockhard and two singles pushed together. We went for our wedding anniversary and they made a beautiful display of flowers on our bed with a lovely cake 💖 The place in general was super busy and loud. The dining was very confusing too, having to go between 3 hotels for breakfast. Unless you eat after 8pm, only big buffet available too. We ended up getting room service. The rooftop bar was nice with an amazing view. This place is Worth a stay but mainly for families as had great facilities for that, including an indoor pool, huge gaming room etc

Lovely and relaxing resort

After several days in rural Vietnam in wonderful home stays this was a great change. A fabulous location in a well maintained resort with stunning views from our 14th floor balcony of two private beaches. Buffet breakfast was great and the staff was wonderful. Cat Ba city beach front was completely under construction with the Party engaging in a massive building project filling land for a new project right in front of the present beach. It's really a mess there now and I wonder how property owners and locals feel about it. The Flamingo did not face these issues.

Off-season stay at Flamingo

We went to Flamingo during off season. This was during end of February. The place was very impressive but only 2 of the 3 towers were in use. This meant that the infinite pool was not in use as well as some other aspects of the resort The hotel is in a quieter part of town but close enough that you can walk into town. If you don't want to walk, there are electric hospitality vehicles that will take you to town and pick you up for a small fee. Thanks to Hung and Charlotte at the reception for helping us with our stay and travel arrangements back to Hanoi.

Great hotel, the rooms are a really good size and we’re always clean, the breakfast had a great selection, location was on the beach and about a 15min walk to the centre of the town. The hotel aims to be a diverse resort, but the actual management appears chaotic and inefficient. Staff lack proper training in service, hygiene, and English proficiency, and the maintenance of hotel facilities is poor. Overall, the hygiene standards of the rooms and restaurant do not reach five-star levels, and the quality does not match the price. Unfortunately, this is currently the only upscale hotel on the island.

If you're looking for the resort experience, this was a great stay. Friendly staff, gorgeous views, very large property with lots of swimming options from beaches to pools. Breakfast had more than enough options for both myself and my husband, who is a pescatarian. During our stay there was still some new build construction going on around the property, so not all of the amenities were complete. This was not imposing nor audible from our room or the gathering areas outdoors. It was an easy walk or taxi to town with access to plenty of shops and food. Overall, we had a good experience.

Great location - poor food and service

Absolutely beautiful resort but very little English spoken. Restaurant service was exceptionally poor and food was of very basic quality. The scallops were overcooked to the point they couldn’t even be scraped off the shell and that was after a 1.25hour wait for our meals with only 10 people in the restaurant. The wait at the beach bar was at least 30min each time as the staff were more concerned with their phones and talking to each other rather than serving customers.

Lovely resort in an amazing location, the view is simply spectacular! Easy check in and check out, the double room was very comfortable, and the breakfast and dinner buffets had plenty of local and international options. Although I understand about an additional cost for alcoholic or soft drinks, they could at least offer free water during the dinner buffet. I highly recommend a stay at this relaxing beach resort.

The hotel was situated in a secluded area, separated from the rest of the town. The staff members were exceptional - they treated me like family. Every single person, from the employees on the 17th-floor bar to those at the front desk, was incredibly sweet, well-mannered, polite, and helpful.
