6/10 Good

The hotel was ok. However, the breakfast needs improvement, better choice
margaret, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very basic room, but probably as would expect from a 3* hotel. Clean and bed was comfortable. It was also a quiet and cool room, being on the north side away from the road and the sun during a heat wave.

8/10 Very good

Stayed at hotel before and basic accommodation but fitted my needs for location. No issues and room cleaned and replenished.

8/10 Very good

Good service at reception on arrival very helpful and friendly room really nice spotless bathroom. Breakfast cooked to order excellent but served 7-9am a bit early on a Sunday.

The building doors magnetic lock was hanging off, the window was falling off and there was hair in the bathroom. The upside was the quick check in and a comfy bed.

Nice big room, pretty dated, shower unusable, couldn't control temperature on extremely hot!!. Breakfast exceptable. Slept well. Reception staff, happy and welcoming.

It’s ok for a 1 night stay.

It’s okay. Looks dated from the outside and looks more like a motel rather than a hotel. Dated inside aswell but clean and beds are fairly comfy. Due to the warm weather the rooms are very hot and no fans and windows only open 1 inch. Breakfast was fairly good if you like a full English.

Do not stay here

I booked this hotel as it stated it had a lift. On arrival the family room was on 1st floor on side of hotel that doesn’t have a lift. The side that does have a lift is under renovation. One of my party uses a wheelchair. The alternative room I was offered was on the ground floor, not wheelchair accessible and the door of the room opened straight out onto the car park, and I did not feel safe to stay in that room. Please do not stay here. No offer of a refund or credit note from receptionist
Ian, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

I would say it was average. We didn’t have enough towels so had to go to reception to get some. They gave us some straight away. We have been staying there twice a year for nearly 14 years and this was the worst room we have ever had. Water was hot in the night but couldn’t get any hot water in the morning in the sink. The shower was hot though but not much pressure. We have always had a bath and shower when we’ve stayed before but this time only had a shower. Also they don’t do evening meals anymore which they haven’t done for some years now.

The facilities are dated, the room is ok for the price. Free parking.

6/10 Good

I had booked a premium double room but the room wasn't premium even after changing first room ax the tv didn't work. The room was clean and the bedding was clean, check in was fast and the receptionist was very helpful when we needed to cange rooms. The furniture was dated in the rooms. When we went for breakfast ourselves and another couple were the only ones there, the breakfast was good though. I most probably wont use the hotel again.

Clean and comfy

Nice stay at the Apollo, stayed in E block the room was clean and comfortable.

Been there, done that

We really do not mind that the room or the hotel itself was outdated, at least for the short amount of time we stayed there. The personell who welcomed us were very nice, but we had no chance of getting a hold of them when checking out. The doors to the reception were locked and no one answered when we called the phonenumber hanging on the door. We also had some issues with the bathroom-door in our room, which was not moveable at all and open (it was off the hooks)! Really romantic.. Probably also the most disappointing breakfast we’ve ever seen at a hotel.

Weekend stay in Birmingham

Good location and easy public transport into the city centre for a busy December weekend. Very friendly staff, easy parking and a good price. We chose the superior room so weren't in the ground floor motel style rooms, although we only used the hotel for sleeping.
