Busy time with school holidays, but a warm friendly family environment. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Close to town and amenities, the lush garden areas covered the tell tale signs for a lick of paint. The room was basic but very comfortable.

Family-Friendly Resort with Room for Improvement

We stayed at Cairns Colonial Club Resort for four nights. While the check-in was smooth, parking was easy, and the pools were great for the kids, the housekeeping was disappointing—only one of our two rooms was cleaned, and towels weren’t changed despite following the resort's instructions. Although we appreciated being allowed to use the resort facilities after checkout, overall, we expected much better service for a family stay.

I had a good night relatively if you ignore the fact my room felt like a downgrade from what was booked and it took forever to check in when it was almost midnight. My issue was the following day/night my partner was accused of being someone else and then while we tried to catch up on sleep during the day were harassed by housekeeping as if to check he wasn’t in the room as he felt so uncomfortable he never came to check in with me and my friend joined me instead as I didn’t feel that safe staying in the property alone.
