Convenient location in Woodstock

The Park suite we had was very comfortable with enough space for us as we had large luggages. It was also convenient to walk around the lovely Woodstock town and also so convenient to walk to Blenheim Palace which is a huge plus. Will definitely stay again if we go to Woodstock or Oxford.

The room was great, no complaints there. The hotel in it self is beautiful. The man checking us in seem a bit uninterested though and they can’t make coffee for breakfast. It really tasted bad. Might have expected a little more with the price.

A better stay than last time

This was our 2nd visit in 5 weeks. We have stayed at the Bear over half a dozen times in the past 20 years We had some concerns after our last visit at the end of April but were pleased to see improvements in most areas from the welcome to staffing in the bar. We look forward to seeing this continue in the future.

This splendidly located landmark hotel claims but fails to be 'Luxury', as it is too faded - but was still good value for a midweek break. Breakfast is now without supplements (they have listened !) - but they had no smoked salmon, two mornings in a row, which is an indictment.

Lovely Room, Great Location

We had room 6 which was lovely, we ate in the hotel and the meal was very good but the restaurant was very quiet. Breakfast was good, lots of choices on the continental side as well as a decent selection of cooked. There were also vegan alternatives for dairy products at breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a really lovely 2 night stay in Woodstock.
