We had a great stay...everything up to the standard you'd expect from a Shangri-La property. The staff were very helpful and really went out of their way to get us settled in. The hotel is right by the May 4th Square metro station, so easy access to the city as well as Qingdao Railway Station. The MixC shopping mall is across the street so very convenient as well. The breakfast buffet was excellent, full range of Western and Chinese dishes.

Amazing location

Everything was amazing, it was clean and comfortable. Mall right behind it, a coffee place and 7-11 that is 24 hours is in the hotel. We have a little incident about the air conditioning at the beginning but it was fix and they even send us some fruits and drink as compensation. The most amazing thing is the location it is literally a 3 minutes walk to the subway and you can also head to the mall underground. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you are going on trip, I would stay there again if I am heading back.

Thanks reception staff Eve/Eva Lau for making arrangement for a good view room and providing us a comfortable drinks in waiting. We had such a wonderful stay in this hotel even before we arrived, the director Jim Zhang from Concierge department had been helping us to arrange the pick up and drop off from and to the railway stations and also the three-day tours. All the staffs were very helpful and very good restaurants. We tried all three of them. The breakfast buffet was amazing and food from the other two restaurants were delicious and fabulous. The afternoon tea was very fresh in the comfortable lobby setting. We will come back next time when we travel around Qingdao.

Everything is good. The hotel is not a new one but condition is excellent. All staff are friendly and helpful except for restaurant service. Waitress telling us the closing time of breakfast was rather blunt and cold. Breakfast area was also not as good as before, like, no one attending to out of order coffee machines and empty food platter. If this is addressed it would be perfect.

Right in the middle of the city center and next to a huge shopping mall with wide variety of restaurants and shops. High end restaurants as well as low cost food stalls are all in the same area where locals are also getting their daily meals here. It is also right next to the #2 and #3 metro lines, which makes going around town is more than convenient. Although the hotel is a little old (built in 1997 and 2008), all the facilities have been modernized. The staff provides the best possible services; the executive lounge has wider selection of foods and drinks compared to other 5-star hotels in this area. It even offers live music on Sundays in the executive lounge when everyone is enjoying their evening happy hours. The executive lounge manager, Mr. Goto, speaks perfect Chinese, Japanese and English, and leads his team by modeling how services should be done. Highly recommended!
