Artsy hipster amazing vibe hotel
It was amazing. Early check in available and the front desk personnel was 10 out of 10. The place is beautiful/gorgeous. They have s’mores from 7-8 with high quality graham crackers and Hershey chocolates yum. Patio is calming and beautiful. Very artsy inside and the room was beautiful. I’m booking another stay now. I go to Portland very often this will definitely be my new place.

Excellent hotel. Only minor complaint would be the bed was a little too soft for me, but I like a firm bed. Great choice for accommodations, good value for your $$.

Annoying sound overshadows positives
There was one main problem that overshadowed the positive aspects of the hotel. There was a constant and annoying hum/whirring sound in our room. It made it very difficult to sleep, and we would probably not stay here again for this reason.

We stayed for 2 nights. The location seems safe and the hotel has onsite parking for a fee. The room was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a urine odor and the toilet seat was too small for the toilet. There rust stains on the wall - the bathroom was not great. We enjoyed the s’mores - breakfast was nothing more than bagels, boiled eggs, and hotel-grade coffee. We’ve had better breakfasts at cheaper hotels.

Very fun yet quiet stay
We had a great stay at Hotel Zags. I arrived exhausted and they were so kind. We ended up on a floor with a barking dog, and they upgraded us to an amazing room that was super quiet.
The lobby is so fun, and we took a board game upstairs. The kids found plenty to eat at breakfast and spent the morning on video games, beanbag toss, and hanging in the patio while I worked. We didn't stay long enough to take advantage of the other items to sign out, and these amenities were in the price, but the location was great and we felt we got our money's worth.
I would warn that parking in the tiny spots was tough for me with a giant 4wd rental car for the mountains, but they were kind enough to help me sort it out.
I'm so glad I skipped my nearby conference hotel for Hotel Zags.
