Amazing building in tranquil setting. Staff very welcoming and night porter was fabulous. The hotel is not the most modern but that is its charm.

Needs a multi million pond refurb. Like fawlty towers or a 1960’s nursing home.

Property is vast and very dated. It was extremely clean but in need of a refurbishment. The second picture is room wallpaper.

Beautiful building and grounds, staff professional and friendly. Was a very reasonable price for bed and breakfast however rooms and corridors are tired, but I expect there are rooms that cost more that had been refurbished. A property of this size and grandeur must cost a fortune to renovate.

Food, service ok. Room needs upgrade. Door closing mechanism requires maintenance, along with fire doors. Noise of doors closing in middle of night not acceptable!!!!

We had a great overnight stay. We used the pool facilities. Everything was really good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was so good to see where my dad, sister and brother were evacuated to from Glasgow when it was used as a school.
I felt the hotel was a bit tired especially the bathroom but didn’t detract from our stay.
The breakfast was perfect and the price we paid for the overnight stay was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend it.

A lovely and luxurious hotel in need of updating in some respects. Our room was a little odd - enormous but with a low ceiling and small windows for the size of room which made it rather dark. It is also rather dated and the furnishings are showing their age a little, but still very comfortable. We ate at the hotel on one evening and none of the items we ordered (both mains and wine) was available although on the menu. Porridge was a strange omission from breakfast for a Scottish hotel.

Very grand hotel in a lovey setting. Bedrooms are very clean but rather old fashioned. Dinner was lovely, I found the food a breakfast limited.
Overall an enjoyable stay and would visit again if in the area

The hotel staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. My husband has a dietary condition and the chef and staff went above and beyond to make him food that he could enjoy even though it wasn’t on the menu. The hotel staff went out of their way to be pleasant and make this an extremely enjoyable stay. Barry in the restaurant went above and beyond. He is an exceptional member of staff.

Our stay was in mid-March and the hotel was very quiet at that time. Our room on the ground floor was very convenient for the hotel pool which had a hot tub and sauna. The pool water was a bit too cold but the hot tub and sauna were very good. There are walking trails and a small lake nearby which is great for birdwatching. Also views of a ruined castle within walking distance. Restaurant food was nicely presented.

We had a lovely stay at Cally Palace. Very close to Gatehouse of Fleet and near lots of great walks. The reception room and grounds were lovely - the bedroom and swimming pool area were a bit tired.
The food in the restaurant was fantastic and staff were great. We got a great deal so good value for money.

1 night stay as part of a longer holiday. Stayed previously at the Cally Palace and had a great stay.
The room was well appointed in a quiet area of the hotel and was very comfortable with views towards the woods at the rear of the hotel.
We had an evening meal which was very enjoyable, our table being close to an open log fire.
The hotel is located 5 minutes from the A75 but is far enough away that there is no noise from passing traffic.
The breakfast was good, there being plenty of choice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return for future visits.

Stayed in a deluxe family room which was excellent. Very spacious with 2 large seperate bedrooms, hall and very large modern and beautifully finished bathroom. Smart technology mirrors in both bedrooms and good sized tvs. Beautiful views from the large windows and good storage in cupboards. Bathrobes and towels for the pool in the cupboards. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and glad we paid a bit extra for the deluxe room. We’ll definitely be back.
Lovely traditional expansive entrance with lots of character. Great full sized snooker table room. Dining areas and conservatory all very nice and traditional.
Swimming pool was a really good size, with good sized changing rooms. Lovely large windows overlooking the golf course. Jacuzzi was good but not the most modern. Sauna was out of order.
Beautiful surroundings and lovely vast historical building. A nice walk through the woodland and past the golf course into Gatehouse. Overall really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
