Lovely stay in the family room which was nice and clean. Really big space, smartly decorated. Added bonus of outdoor patio area which was great as we had glorious weather. The breakfast was amazing! We found The Royal Sportsman to be clean, comfortable and friendly. Just a short walk from the Rail Station and easy walking to many points of interest including the steam train station. The restaurant at the RS was a very nice surprise and we enjoyed all our meals there. Most of all we appreciated the staff who were all very kind and helpful. We would certainly book a room at The Royal Sportsman if we return to Porthmadog.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sportsman. It is true that the rooms are quite compact but we had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. The bed was comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist with parking and a special breakfast request. The breakfast is excellent with a good range of choice. We ate at the hotel on two evenings and the quality of the food and service were brilliant. Porthmadog was a great place to stay and we would certainly return to the Royal Sportsman without hesitation!
