Staff excellent, lovely Xmas decor, breakfast was amazing. Only let down was a very uncomfortable mattress that was lumpy, uneven and you could feel the springs. One end of the bed had all but collapsed. But despite this, we would stay in a Mercure again.

Didn’t try the leisure facilities there was an extra £10 charge which was disappointing. A spacious hotel, comfy beds and nice bathrooms, if a little dated in places. Only a one night stop for a family occasion, really well positioned in the city and easy parking (although chargeable).

Decent hotel, in a pretty much perfect location. Gymnasium usage was complimentary (but the facility wasn't very good). Use of the pool/jacuzzi carried an additional charge, even if you were a hotel guest. Parking also carried an additional charge. Very clever, seeing as guests would be charged to park anywhere else they found nearby.
