8/10 Very good

Great hotel. Great Staff in need of some TLC

Very economical hotel but whilst it is immaculately clean and tidy. Previous users have treated it badly and it shows

The staff were very nice and welcoming, good atmosphere in the bar will definitely stay here again

It was alright. Can't complain with the price. Bed was comfy. TV was OK for streaming but WiFi didn't work and when I asked at the bar they said they had same issue and that it should work later, it didnt. Staff were friendly. No soundproofing in room so it does get quite loud being a pub. I wouldn't stay there with my kids

Thank God i only stayed 1 night

A discoloured towel on the floor of bedroom that seemed to be covering something wet and coloured was the first thing to walk into , a bucket in the hallway catching water leaking through a light fitting outside bedroom door. Slept on top of duvet cover in a towel as bed looked a bit suspect under covers .

Nice staff but not an overall pleasant stay.

Staff were friendly however did not have a pleasant stay. The walls of the room were very thin, and so we could hear everything in adjoining and nearby rooms - which both kept us awake late, and then woke us up. The room upon closer inspection was not as clean as we’d hope - e.g mould in the basement windowsill, and the kettle in the room had the base stored inside the kettle, however the plug had specks of black mould on it so we chose not to use it. Only 1 thin pillow each with no spares available. Very few parking spaces on site so had to park elsewhere. Will next time pay a bit more for more comfortable accommodation elsewhere instead.

8/10 Very good

Basic and budget which suited what I needed. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The accommodation is above a pub so beware of possible noise from downstairs. The Room was fine albeit a little tatty and very basic.

Disappointing for the price

Was a disappointing experience. The first room had tattwred blinds and a stained vanity stool. The shower bar was broken so no hot water. There was no remote for the tv because, I was told, the builder take them. The same with kettles. There was a kettle in the first room but no tea or coffee. Credit to the staff on flagging up of the shower problem I was immediately moved to another room. There was no kettle in the room, the remotendid not work and was vwey dirty and the top of the toilet flush was missing. As I was leaving early, was advised to leave via the fire exit.when I got to the fire exit it and all the others on the building were wide open at 5 in the morning rendering the building unsecured. The car park is small and there wasnt space when I arrived so parked in a nearby street

AWFUL - Avoid at all costs

This was truly an awful experience from the get go. We arrived 30 minutes before the check in closing time shown on the hotels.com email to be told 'we were lucky they are still open' as checkin closes at 10. After tripping over a bucket left in the corridor, we found our room. Opening the door to sights of mould on the blinds, peeling wall paper and damaged light sockets. The bathroom was just an extension to this disgusting room and I what I would call uninhabitable environment. If it hadn't been so late in the evening we would have walked straight out. The paper thin wall allowed us to clearly listen to the conversations that happened in the corridor (of which anyone could walk through as the fire door was left open all night) We promptly evacuated in the morning ensuring to decontaminate all out belongings when arriving home.
The blind, that had to be closed manually due to the cord not being connected. (Not meeting safety standards either as it was loose at the bottom)
Rogue cigarette butt left in the plug hole
Extensive mould around the bathroom
The trip hazard bucket within the corridor.

ok stay

It was easy to find, the carpark isnt very large. Room was lovely and clean, was just disappointed that there were not Tea/Coffee facilities in the room. The only other complaint was the room was too hot with no fans or aircon.

Mistake

No Wifi, no food at night, posters up asking residents to return cutlery. Breakfast did start till 8am. Bedroom door had been broken into before as wood missing around the lock. Overpriced.

Don’t bother booking

There was a terrible odour in the whole place and room, there was a kettle in room, but no cups for tea or coffee! Staff had no customer service whatsoever and it was very noisy! There wasn’t even a remote for the TV and the bed was very uncomfortable 😣

Avoid this place

Awful! Rooms above a very crummy pub. Two rooms booked with Hotels.com but hotel had only picked up one. They did have another free so took it. Rooms cheaply renovated but rest of property really tired. One room had been broken into. In the end we paid again for another hotel and just walked out. Photos extremely flattering- this place should not be on Hotels.com.

2/10 Poor

Staff were friendly and helpful, linen and towels were clean, the room was warm. No kettle in the room and no drinks or food available before 8 a.m. The evening menu was pitiful. The corridor carpet was filthy and thread bare. Bedroom was dingy, there were holes in the plaster and the paint work was old and drab. The shower control was broken. Only the most desperate souls could find the accommodation bearable. .

Awful rooms

The first room I was allocated smelt damp like wet dogs. There was cracks in the ceiling a shelf had fallen down in the area to hang your clothes. I changed rooms to one that had no handle on the room door and it was just stuffed with tissue. The bathroom had mould around the shower. I didn’t feel safe at all so my 3 night stay turned into one! This hotel was disgusting in my opinion thankfully I found another close by! The staff tried to help but things that should been standard hadn’t been maintained
