During my recent stay, I was surprised to learn of a $40 per night pet fee that was never explained at check-in and does not match what is shown online. This is the highest pet fee I’ve encountered in Minot, and the property is not a five-star hotel to justify such a charge. Had this been disclosed upfront, I would have cancelled and chosen a more affordable option. Transparency on fees is essential.
The breakfast offerings were limited—no fruit, no sugar-free options, and overall very average. On the positive side, the pool was open, the beds were comfortable, and housekeeping actually cleaned our room, which is rare these days. However, there was no “Do Not Disturb” sign available, which is a basic amenity. The ongoing remodeling left a noticeable carpet glue smell, which detracted from the experience.
Overall, while the stay was acceptable, the pet fee was excessive and misleading, especially since my dog was never left alone in the room. Clearer communication of charges would prevent frustration for returning guests like myself, who visit Minot multiple times a year and have never faced such costs elsewhere.
