Great value. A little dated, but great for what we wanted. Nice breakfast. Definitely get a room with pool view!! Very friendly staff.

Pool view rooms are the best and the atmosphere for swimming is perfect. The RAMADA is in my opinion the best overall design and feel for a retreat to a hot tub and pool with family and or buisness as number 1 priority to impress & enjoy!

6/10 Good

We had rooms that were right off the pool. It was very nice having dinner with our whole family right there poolside. It is very convenient as the kids swam , we played games and had a great time. It was well worth it.

Very easy to check in. Friendly staff but place is old and tired. Looks like they are starting to remodel or redecorate

8/10 Very good

Our rooms were poolside, very convenient. However, the pool and hot tub water was cold. Waffle batter tasted spoiled. Checkin staff was wonderful, helpful, and polite. Could not find anyone to get a receipt for checkout.

They are renovating the hotel so it’s in some disarray. But the people are very friendly and the room’s comfortable.

Don’t stay here

Old, dirty hallways, smoky scents. The bedding was clean and no bed bugs noted but that was the only positive. I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t stay there again.

This property looked abandoned. Most of the lights were off inside the building. As a single female traveler, I felt like I could be murdered here. It was dark, sketchy hallways. There was mold in the bathroom and closet. The bed was clean though and the staff was nice.

8/10 Very good

Upon checking in on June 7 the front desk clerk was very informative & kind. We were disappointed that the hot tub was cold. finally the hot tub was warming up in the next morning . The outdoor patio was dirty, broken chairs, needed mowing . Cont. breakfast was a little sparse. Our room was never cleaned or no clean towels when we returned late Sat., evening. I asked the gentleman at the front desk if we could have fresh towels & our trash emptied. An hour later I went to the front desk to ask again for clean towels. Finally got them. The bathroom door did not lock.

Anywhere but Michigan City Inn

I can't imagine anyone staying staying at the Michigan City Inn for ANY reason. As I entered their driveway there was someone at my window asking for spare change. There was no one at the front desk to check you in and a clerk from the motel next door came over to check me in. Everything was extremely filthy and thee were very few lights that worked in the hallways. There seemed to be a criminal element hanging around in the hallways involved in prostitution and/or drugs, The room they wanted to put me in hadn't been serviced in any way with unmade beds and filthy flooring and bathroom fixtures. I left as soon as I could as I was worried about being assaulted or worse. The pool area was totally dark with people just hanging out in the pool area. There were plenty of other places nearby that were clean and safe to stay at. The Michigan City Inn is an out-of-business Ramada Inn that may be in the process of being renovated but is not safe or clean enough for anyone to stay in.

1/2 out of 5 stars

Pool area was dark & said closed. Hot tub was down. Dark building. Breakfast was extremely limited. Restaurant was closed. No fitness center. Closed. No hair dryer. No phone or clock. Table & TV were dirty. Hallway floor was dirty & smelled bad. Fridge/bed/microwave was nice. Push mower in hallway. Fire extinguisher missing. Poor Wi-Fi. No room service anywhere for days. It was like a ghost town. Very displeased. Would not recommend. Not as advertised.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel the need to warn others on this one. Check-in was the least professional one I have ever experienced in my life--the agent was in the middle of a Zoom conference and kept going back and forth between participating in the conference and getting my key cards ready. He handed me the cards and told me the room number and direction to go and pointed, and that was it. Felt like I was a bother. The hallway to the rooms was filthy; and not just a little--clumps of dirt, garbage, broken furniture all down the hall. The smell was bad. The room smelled musty. Drawers had visible crusty vegetations inside. Carpet was worn and sticky. Floor was dirty behind the toilet. In all fairness, the sheets appeared clean apart from nail polish stains on one of them, and the towels were clean and smelled properly laundered, and the shower/tub was fairly clean. Could not sleep because a "low battery alarm" on a smoke detector outside the room chirped all night long. I stayed only because it was late and I had prepaid. I am a very low-maintenance dude, but I guarantee that if my wife were with me, she would have demanded to leave. My advice is to spend a little extra money and stay somewhere better than this! I wish I had read the reviews before I booked it; I usually do but was lazy this time.
