We were warmly greeted by Ema (the manager), which was one of the few positives. Unfortunately, the stay was disappointing.
Our room was at the back of the property with its own external door opening onto a car park courtyard shared with other rooms — this didn’t feel secure. A smoking bin was also mounted by the window.
Inside, the room had a damp smell, cobwebs on light fittings, dirt along the door edges, and visible stains on the bedding, pillow cases, and decorative cushions. The extractor fan pulsed on and off and clearly needed maintenance. Although the room looked like the online photos, the cleanliness and quality did not match what was advertised.
Due to the condition of the room, we chose not to stay and drove over 100 miles home late at night. We raised these issues with the manager, who agreed the room fell well below their usual standards. We were offered a 50% refund on a non-refundable stay, which highlights the severity of the situation. Though we accepted this at the time, we feel a full refund would have been more appropriate given that we were unable to stay at all.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend this property.
