Sturbridge host? No thank you.

This was marketed as the “executive suite” when I got there they said I have the “mini suite” There was no balcony, the “mini suite” was just a large king bed with a couch and two TVs. I said again that I was “excited to see what the executive suite was.” But, they just looked confused and said I booked the mini suite. I showed them my reservation, and then they gave me my room keys. The hotel is very old, not up to date with many of the hotels I usually stay in. I will most likely be staying elsewhere each year when I make a business trip to Sturbridge. I’m mostly disappointed that I spent extra money on a “executive suite” only to get a slightly larger king size room. No microwave, no fridge, and the faint smell of an old building. 4/10. Wouldn’t stay again.

Beautiful area to picnic near the lake/pond. This a beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, since Covid they no longer have a restaurant, hot tub and the adjacent restaurant has closed. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

The hotel was really rustic, lake was beautiful for fishing and a little picnic. It’s nice for a little getaway, the location was awesome, it had a ton of good places to eat close by. I am giving 5 stars because of how nice staff were to us, would definitely come back. Don’t believe all the bad reviews, this place is indeed a little older than hotels but it has a nice charm to it.

I want sure how to grade honestly, good hotel, had what you need. I really liked the unusual set up with a smartly designed function area with rooms all around with sliding doors. Pool area also in this same area. I believe you could have a uniquely enjoyable wedding reception. As far as stay better than most. Function very good possibilities.

I had stayed there 35 years ago. I was surprised the price was so low when I booked it when we arrived and saw that nothing had been maintained or updated since my last visit. It was so bad it was comical. I was chicken to go in the pool because it was so dark in that area at night & they had just had a two day event that resulted in obvious cleanliness issues. Our room was quite clean with comfortable bedding & linens. The staff that we met were very nice & helpful. Heard that new owners are planning to fix it and we are cheering them on because the location is fabulous and the potential is great.
