"We booked this hostel more than a month ago and arrived around 8 PM after a one-hour drive from San Sebastián. The parking lot was closed, and when my husband walked to the door, he found it locked. He knocked, but no one answered. Suddenly, a guest from a nearby window informed us that the owner had gone out and that he was alone there (with no other guests). The guest suggested we call the numbers posted on the door. We called, but nobody answered.
I immediately canceled our reservation...

"Óscar, the owner was a wonderful host. He prepared a great breakfast for us and showed us his pride and joy…the hotel he built room by room while he worked full time as a mechanic. "

"The hotel is lovely. However, the location is extremely remote — it is not “minutes from everything” as they describe on their website. There is no car service or restaurants, or humans near by. There is literally nothing close to it — so not recommended for solo travelers & you definitely should not go without a car! To get anywhere costs at least €70++. The dining on property is limited — in lieu of the extravagant tasting menu at the Michelin rated restaurant which I’m sure is great, the...

"After a 7 hour drive we tried to book in for our three day stay. The Host started to book us in but stopped when he saw we had brought Water and Food with us. Although we tried to explain my partner was diabetic and I had only one kidney which meant we needed food and our own food. By this time it was 7.30pm and we were tired after a 7 hour drive from Andora and finally found a hotel 8 miles away at &,35pm.

"Lovely and clean hotel, a bit remote but fine if you drive there, think it was mostly truckers staying, but definitely never had that rough truck stop feel about it, would definitely stay again"

"Great location for travelling north, although a busy truck stop & service area, the hotel & restaurant are great and serve there purpose well.
Also dog friendly.
An outside dining area would make it perfect."

"Due to a Bruce Springsteen concert in San Sebastian, to find an affordable place to stay I picked this. It was only 20 minutes away and it was in a very quiet area. We got a large room with a balcony. The young man at the front desk was so helpful, he even helped us book for the Springsteen concert. Very comfortable place to stay."

"Was a very pleasant stay. Carpark is right outside of the hotel. Safe and quiet area. Check in is smooth and hassle free. The front desk Mr Vega, is a gem:) friendly and helpful. Did not have any expectations as it is a stopover for a nite. It is about 15 mins drive to San Sebastián which is not difficult to navigate from the hotel.
Will return again if opportunity allows:) "

"Staff was great! Hotel was no frills, but that's ok, becasue neither are we. Price was high as it was running with the bulls week. We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant. No bar on property, but there's a convenience store right next door. This hotel was easy walking distance to El Encierro."

There is literally nothing close to it — so not recommended for solo travelers & you definitely should not go without a car! To get anywhere costs at least €70++. The dining on property is limited — in lieu of the extravagant tasting menu at the Michelin rated restaurant which I’m sure is great, the only option to eat dinner was room service. Despite having another bistro on site, it apparently was only for aesthetics. The room was beautiful & comfortable. Somehow I ended up waking with bug bites in the morning all over my arms — which is hard to say came from the room but since that’s where I was for the day & night, because I had no where to roam — one can only assume. The staff was nice & if you want complete peace & quiet, this is the place for you!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel's amenities, particularly the sauna, which was fantastic! The breakfast was absolutely incredible! We stayed during the early days of the San Fermin event and were treated with such warmth that we truly felt special."
"My daughter and I stayed here one night. The place is a totally charming retreat in a quiet village. The owner is a very kind lady. The food at the restaurant was excellent."
"The room was spacious and towels plentiful and an actual grown up size. Laminate flooring in room could do with someone spending half an hour to fix it. Restaurant was cheap but disappointing. Skipped breakfast and got on the road."

"Very welcoming at reception. Room clean and modern. Accessible room with good sized shower. Could maybe do with anti slip mat in shower, otherwise really good"
