A lovely town, well maintained, with, of course, the delight of the Llangollen Steam railway. Great walks along the canal in both directions. It is a beautiful area and well worth a visit

Very nice town with lots to see and do. Very busy though and the locals have a habit of illegally parking anywhere they feel like, even in the park and blocking pathways.

A great town within walking distance to the hotel. Many great eating places: nice trips on the trains. Well worth a visit
"Overall great. Just a few issues with service especially when you arrive to check in, and all you want to do is get it done efficiently with your family in tow.
So when a guest arrives, please great them. Don’t wait for them to wonder what to do next; so I guessed that the newly installed tablet maybe for me to you use, considering I had been ignored. (No other guests). Standing, there, knowing I am there, not acknowledging or asking if I need any assistance. Not a good look.
Otherwise one other issue. Couldn’t get booked into the gastro pub, as it was somehow full, even though maybe at most visibly 40% occupied. I guess not enough staff to provide quality service. However I was able to get into the a la carte restaurant and it was fantastic. Well done.
The room was a real highlight, wonderfully spacious, clean and with character. Funny thing though was the faucet for the sink, which was so low, I couldn’t get water in the room supplied kettle.
Would stay again, just please, first impressions count; make an effort there. Thx"
"Staff are wonderful. The hotel is 5 minutes walk into town. The room was extremely hot, window only opened slightly, no A/C The bar could do with more ambience, felt a bit like an airport lounge. Maybe dim the lights, a few plants and put candles on tables. Really annoying having to pay for parking £28 for two nights, however that seems to be most English hotels in towns. Overall I would go back."
"From the moment Frank greeted us we had a fabulous stay. All the people we encountered (especially the front desk ladies and Frank) took extra interest in my daughter to make our stay something special for her on her big girl weekend away. Thank you. "
"Our favourite hotel when staying in Chester for all the reasons we’ve highlighted.
Lovely staff, very welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful - nothing is too much trouble!
We will see you again soon - thank you all!"
