friendly facilities. Hotel itself could do with some redecoration but it is a lovely old building full of character and it was very cosy with open fires and big comfy sofas to relax in. Food was locally sourced and well cooked and presented. "

"Great stay, quiet time of year but the hostel was very comfortable, clean, friendly, and relaxed. I had a private double room which was perfect for travelling with a pet. Kitchen access was really handy as Braemar and the surrounding area doesn't have much in the way of options for eating during the week in the off season."

There is a lounge area to use which was good, this has a pool table, various couches etc and board games.

"Could not recommend this accommodation enough - a real hidden gem! Massive, secure 2 bedroom apartment in a wider bunkhouse complex which was, when we stayed, not occupied. Only 5 mins drive from Kirriemuir and so quiet and peaceful - in the heart of the countryside. Comms were great and all mod cons throughout including WiFi, TVs in all rooms and even a starter hamper! Will definitely book again. The

"Lovely location and views but the overall experience was quite average.
The service throughout was slow, slightly chaotic and disappointing.
The hotel bar struggled to serve a drink at 11pm and it lacked atmosphere.
Breakfast time wasn’t great - we had been sitting for 20 mins before even a glass of water was produced. My scrambled eggs were grainy, odd textured and inedible.
