"The only 2 good things about this place were the dog
friendly atmosphere and the nice bath towels. There were no hand towels or face cloths, the shower did not drain, 2 of the 4 cups left for us were dirty and the hair dryer fused when I turned it on. The mattresses felt about 2 inches thick (thin?) and I could not get comfortable all night. But the staff were friendly if not too helpful. We are disabled seniors and had to carry our own bags up two long flights of stairs. "

! Assume most were local. Patio looks down on large fields. Before sunset people walking, playing futbol.
Room was unique, worried wife would not like it. But she loved it. Spacious, old, stairs appear challenging but not a problem. Did get help moving our too heavy bags.
20 minute drive to Bath and there is a bus if you don’t want to drive. "

"The Crown is situated in a pretty little village and is pretty much the centre of entertainment for that village. The pub itself is cosy, with beamed ceilings and is well stocked with ales and spirits to suit every taste. The staff are friendly and welcoming as are the locals. We had a twin bed room at the rear of the pub, which was comfortable enough. We were unable to book our usual double bed so sleeping on a smaller bed did not help. The room itself was clean and basic, with a good shower...

"The compasses Inn was a very well organised friendly and relaxing place to stay. It was easy to find using Google maps from the app (which is saying something!) Good parking, although this can get busy with the pub and restaurant in the evenings, however we always found a space, getting back before 7 in the evening or after 9!
Extremely quiet considering the Pub is below - we heard nothing!
