"Nice place for a night stopover, lovely breakfast "

"We really enjoyed our brief stay at Cosy Wood House. Although it has shared facilities, we were there as a family of 4 for most of the time on our own (with only one other person who arrived late in the evening when we were in bed!) Our family room was spacious and the bathroom incredibly clean. The property is modern and very well kept. The shared kitchen is well equipped, with a good range of utensils and crockery. There is also an oven, hob, microwave and huge fridge. It is situated in a very quiet location, with just a few neighbouring houses. The continental breakfast provided to those who choose this option is plentiful and filling - with fresh bread, croissants, coffee, cake and juice. Although it is not possible to walk to shops, they are only a short 10 minute drive away on the outskirts of Troyes. The property had WiFi, TV and a table football which kept us well entertained. The host was very friendly and spoke good English. The keys to the property were in a lock box so we could collect them conveniently. "

"We (retired Brit couple) have stayed at Val Moret many times over 20 years or so. Dinner at the restaurant is always a highlight and the most recently acquired chef has increased the already delicious standards. Rooms are clean and comfortable, all one needs for a night’s journey stopover. (I suspect few people book a week’s holiday here but a few nights would be entirely reasonable). During 2025 there are building works progressing toward enlargement of the restaurant and reception. The work isn’t at all disruptive or intrusive, particularly for rooms further away. If the end result enhances the bar area that will be a great improvement, as the existing bar facilities are about the only thing that let the place down currently. We haven’t used the spa but it looks good. Finally, credit must be given to famille Marisy (and particularly to Mme, who apparently never sleeps) who work tirelessly for the comfort of their guests. It’s really good to see a family business thriving in this ever increasingly conglomerate dominated industry."

"This is a wonderful hotel situated in the heart of Troyes. The team are very welcoming and we received a complimentary room upgrade which made our stay even more special. The hotel has a warm and friendly feel, everywhere is extremely clean and tidy and the breakfast is amazing. Highly recommended."

"An interesting and grand villa. Lovely secluded grounds with private parking. Large very comfortable bedroom. The management and staff were delightful, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, just a shame that dinner wasn't being served the night before (not that this was promised). We would definitely stay again."

"The hotel is fine and a good value but the staff is exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. We needed help retrieving a lost item from our previous hotel and they helped us track it down. The location is good, only a short ride to down town Reims. The breakfast is good and the rooms are clean."

"The hotel manager didn't care. All he wanted was money. The apartment we booked was for 4 motorcycle friends on a tour. We booked the apartment because it had 4 beds. The instructions by Expedia said contact the property 24 hours before arrival. Someone would then meet you at the property. We did this telling them we were arriving on motorcycles. We had no reply from the property manager. This was repeated 12 hours before arrival. Again no reply. We arrived at the apartment and phoned them. They told us we had to go to another location (St George Hotel) to get the keys. We left the bikes at the apartment and walked. When we arrived at the hotel we were told there was no parking and only two places at the hotel. We managed to find one at the apartment and fitted the other three into a small space at the hotel. We were given the keys to the apartment after a tangle over payment. We had paid in advance but they were asking for payment. That was sorted. We were given a key. Now at the apartment, the key didn't fit any of the doors. By luck we opened a garage door and found the apartment. Access was via a narrow and unsafe staircase. On entry it was dark and uninviting. There was no bedding for the sofa bed. The hotel manager was contacted and wanted more money for bedding. I ended up sleeping in my clothes with no bedding. There are so many other things to list, unsafe electrics, broken smoke detector. To much to list. Extremely poor. Why do Expedia promote this property?"

"If you want a truly old France experience, this is the place ! Lovely friendly couple who have turned their 19c priory into a b & b, retaining all the character and architecture of the period, as well as the furniture. Good bathroom facilities and good value for money. The surrounding rural area is stunning. "

"We had an amazing stay in this lovely hotel. So quirky and full of character. Beds - amazing, best sleep ever. Walkable everywhere in Troyes old town, plenty of restaurants and cafes on your door step, grocery shop 5 min walk away. Lovely owners and housekeeping girls. Will definitely stay again as we are in this area often visiting my husband’s family. Definitely recommend!"

"Very bad. We arrived late at night and the code did not work! We struggled to checkin and wasted more than 30mins to try to connect with the hotel. Hotels.com tried to help and couldn’t get help as well. At the end, we could talk to some guy that kept speaking french. "

"Room was like a dormitory! Very dated facilities that are in need of modernisation. Very expensive for what it is. Disappointed that the swimming pool was not open - it was not noted on the website about being closed over winter. Also disappointed that as guests we would have to pay €6 per person for the mini golf - extortionate price. Good meal at the restaurant though."
