"This auberge is situated in the centre of Castellane, with a river at the rear that you can swim in. The breakfast was varied and there was plenty of it, lovely staff who were very friendly and helpful. There is a large rear shaded terrace which was quiet snd you could relax have a drink. Castellane has a friendly, busy but relaxed vibe, plenty to see and do. I would definitely stay again. Ask for a room on the rear so that it is hidden from the buzz of the square. "

"Fantastic hotel. Great views over the valley, lovely pool area, large free car park, friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable with air conditioning. Balcony was lovely. Breakfast is excellent and well worth the €16, full of delicious local goods and fresh bread and pastries. Would definitely recommend - beautiful views from the terrace too. It’s a short walk to Moustiers along a path and pavement, and a short drive to Verdon gorge. The pre-check-in information seemed a little officious but once we were there, the staff were very friendly"

"In a lovely old building but with recently renovated and simply but nicely decorated rooms, including a very nice modern bathroom with a large shower. On the town square of a gem of a Provencal town. Pleasant staff. Restaurant looked good but was closing when we arrived so we ate across the square at one of the many restaurants available. Rooms are not air conditioned but in mid-June sleeping with the window open was just fine. The Hotel du Levant is incredible value for money. "

"Great view of the lake, good food and good service. Room conditions need improvement as two electrical outlets didn’t work in our room. Only outlet working was the one for the TV, They brought us an extension cord and unplugged the TV to solve the problem. Room condition and facilities are very basic but I guess that’s what we paid for. "

"Excellent service from front desk and excellent food from the bistro. The property is very cool. Unfortunately our room had some issues. One was what seemed to be a faint lingering smoke smell. They had an air freshener, perhaps to mask it, but it was too strong and we put it outside. Second, the bed was hard and very uncomfortable. Lastly, plumbing issues, the shower head was spraying all over ceiling. The AC was shut off for season, but it was still quite warm in October when we stayed, so that added to the discomfort. "

"We stayed two nights to see the gorges. It was wonderful. The facility is lovely….well laid out….great hot tub/pool….and the view from our room was beautiful. The Gorges du Verdon is a gem…..be sure to drive the loop and then the long way round….stunning."

"This place is GREAT! It is beautiful. The rooms are very clean. The pool is awesome. The area is amazing and its super close to beautiful hikes along gorge du verdon and the gorge itself to go for a swim or rent a pedal boat or a kayak. The owner, Patrick was so kind. He was available for everything. His knowledge of the area is endless and he can recommend you with the best things to do and eat. He also helped us with restaurants when we were a bit late to the service hours, and was making an effort to make the breakfast good for us as we are vegan. All in all, we HIGHLY recommend this place :) "

"Wir waren von unserem Aufenthalt hier sehr enttäuscht. Das Personal war unhöflich und nicht einladend und antwortete auch nicht auf unsere Nachrichten. Das Zimmer war ok, aber nicht besonders sauber und nachts wurde lange Zeit laute Musik gespielt, während wir versuchten, unsere Kinder zum Schlafen zu bringen. Wir fühlten uns hier sehr unwohl. Castellène selbst war jedoch eine wunderschöne Gegend und ein schönes Dorf für einen Besuch."
