Breakfast also excellent and service was superb. Only disappointment was car parking - from the description we had assumed parking was on site and secure not across the road on the open verge. Very quiet area, opposite a canal with good walks nearby."

Not sure what was happening during my stay but there were doors being slammed repeatedly all afternoon. However, the place is equipped to accommodate cyclists and their bikes in the form of a dedicated secure storage space. For the price I would have expected the room to be better equipped and the place to be better...

The staff were very friendly and helpful on check-in. The hotel itself is quite tired and needs some modernisation.

The highlight for us was no doubt the restaurant. They had a very interesting menu and with some delicious food. The salmon starter I had is one of the best starters I have ever tasted in my life - so a big compliment to the chef.
The place also had a nice swimming pool but unfortunately we were there on a rainy day - so didn't get to use it. "
